A not-so-great Beatles moment, upon seeing a girl wearing a Beatles backpack at lunch at school:

Me: I LOVE your bag! Who's your favorite Beatle?

Her: Oh, I don't know who they are, I just liked the way it looked…

My Beatley moment:

On the table for (minor) heart surgery; the doctor and his crew had classic rock on in the operating room (whether this was to relax me or them, I'll never know) but just before they put me under, Rocky Raccoon , the FIRST Beatles song I learned to play on guitar, came on and I just knew everything was going to be all right…..

Oh that's a wonderful Beatle moment! It made my night, ahh. a-hard-days-night-ringo-9With The Beatles   has been rather common lately on iTunes, and I just checked the Anthology series out of the library (once again), so I'm just getting a little emotional, reminiscing and all, haha.

I'm in love, but I'm lazy.

Yeah, it's difficult not to get a little choked-up watching the Anthology…..seeing them–adding that visual dimension past just hearing the beautiful music–it's really overwhelming at moments……

Written by my student's in the feedback under “Something interesting about the teacher” (I'm NOT making this up)

  • She (heart heart heart) the BeatleS!!! (happy face happy face)
  • She's cool because she likes the Beatles.
  • She LOVES THE BEATLES!!
  • She has a cool Beatle wallpaper in her computer.
  • We practice English with Beatles songs.
  • She likes the same music as my father.
  • She plays rockband!!!!
  • She went to a Paul McCartney concert.
  • She knows the Imagine song!!

The usual feedback I get is “Her last name is American” (my Mother 's last name is Freeze) or other stuff. But someone will always ALWAYS mention the Beatles  a-hard-days-night-george-8

I was getting my guitar out to practice what I had been learning in class so I got out my book and opened it to a random page and saw notes under a song which was titled Help . I knew it wasn't “Help !” because the guy who wrote the book changes the names of the songs in his book so that he has no trouble teaching them (due to copyright laws). In the back of my mind I told myself, “that's a Beatles song, but if it's not Help ! what could it be?” The next day in class, my teacher is teaching us a certain strum and then tells us to look at the bottom of the page, where Help is, and that we are going to play it. He says, “This song is actually “With A Little Help From My Friends ,” a Beatles song, and I wish I wrote it because you know the people who wrote it are still making millions.” I was filled with joy as I completely f*cked up on my first run through of the song! Other than that, it was awesome to get a group of people playing that song!!! Sorry I haven't been on recently, I haven't been able to get on due to school and/or lack of internet.

I was in an op-shop and my friend and I were looking for bargains. We were wearing our Beatles t-shirts when suddenly Penny Lane comes on. We start dancing around and then the woman at the counter looks up to the picture of Jesus. I think she thought we were satanic or something a-hard-days-night-ringo-6

Or maybe she was thinking of John. WHY DO THEY ALWAYS THINK OF JOHN? (Not that I'm complaining.)

Guess what! Polythene Dan won a T-shirt at school for answering a Beatles question correctly! But I'll only bring myself to tell you the ridiculously easy question if someone asks.

“Who played bass for the Beatles?”

No, really.

*sigh* a-hard-days-night-john-7

I remember at the end of 7th grade, the principal played a Monkees' song to celebrate the start of summer and some idiot yelled out, “The Beatles suck!”. So if your classmates at least know the difference…?

When my mother told me the question, I started ranting: “Well, Paul played bass on most songs, but George picked up a bass for “Ticket To Ride ” and “Taxman ,” among others. John did something weird with an out-of-tune bass on “Helter Skelter ,” but I don't know if that counts….”

I don't know if this is a Beatly moment per-se.  but it was absolutely crazy.  I am a manager of my campus late night dining facility.  And in honor of John Bday, I brought in my I Home and made a playlist of Johns Beatles songs and his solo songs and played it the entire night (it was awesome!  but that is a different story)  Anyways, the music is playing, and one of my workers asks me, “Who is coming into replace me at 10?”  I responded, I am not sure, I will go check out the schedule.  Just as I said that, Anna came on.  and I then remembered it was my worker named Anna who was coming in. a-hard-days-night-john-6

Over the weekend, I was watching my beloved New York Yankees on television while listening to The Beatles with my headphones.

By the time I got up to Revolver , the game was no longer in doubt as the Yanks had a very convincing lead. Just as the camera panned to the downtrodden opposing manager, my ears were filled with…

“Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhh look at all the lonely people.”

To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.

I was watching the rescue of Chilean miners on TV while listening to music on my computer, and after one of them was back on the surface, and his little daughter hugged him and he hugged her back, the song Imagine started. I cried .. it was nice..a-hard-days-night-john-6

You and I can no longer be friends.

Seriously, that almost cancels out the fact that you're a teacher.

Today at school was this one awesome teacher's birthday. So we have a little news thing that we have every day and one of the short weekly segments that comes on was all focused on Mr. Russel because it's his birthday. And they normally play a song at the end during the credits. And what would happen to be the ending song but Birthday . Even though they put Happy Birthday up and I ranted to my friend that the title was wrong. But other than that it was good.
