Me: *puts George Harrison album on the turntable*
Dad: “Oh George Harrison …he wrote Imagine right?”
Me: *stupid grin appears on my face*
Dad: “Well, didn’t he sing it?”
Me: “No! That was John Lennon ‘s song!” *hysterical laughing commences from my diaphragm*
Dad: “All the Beatles solo work is bad anyway…”
Me: “Uhhhhh…”

About five years ago, my dad and I were watching a quiz show where one of the participants had to name a number one single that Macca sang, so they said Hey Jude . My dad snorted with laughter and exclaimed “Well that’s wrong, John sang that!”
I felt very disappointed in him but he’s learnt his lesson.

I get many beatley moments. I usually just play beatles music while on the internet. With so many albums from UK or North America, there are sooooo many different ways to listen to them, I just don’t get sick of them.

Was that common practice in the 60’s in Britain?

My mom had a Beatley moment. She was at the grocery store and noticed a young lady wearing an Abbey Road t-shirt. She told the young lady that she like the shirt. They struck up a conversation about The Beatles, and then mom told her about this website. So, @Joe, I have my mom recruiting for you. LOL.

I’m not sure if this is a “beatley moment” but I’ll type it here anyway.
My mom’s friend said she has a box full of vintage Beatles stuff from the 1960s and that I could have it if she could find it.
She also went to the Beatles last show in 1966 and has a piece of grass that John stepped on.

My work-experience place has a savage playlist which plays (obviously) throughout the store- they have this absolutely perfect mix where there is a decent balance between more modern and older tracks. Anyways the person who made it, first of all deserves a raise and second of all loves The Beatles, so far I’ve heard:
– Nineteen Eighty Five
All we need is a Ringo track and then my day is made.
It is the perfect compliment for when you’re doing boring work like putting size-cubes on hangers (I’d say over the past 3 days, I’ve cubed over 400 hangers ) and then you hear something like Huey Lewis’ ‘The Power of Love’ and you’re trying not to sing along because you’re meant to be “professional” but then you end up humming along anyways.
Also right after SLY came on originally, Oasis’ ‘Wonderwall’ started playing which reminds me of the immortal joke
Also on my first day, during my lunch break I went out for dinner to some restaurant. While I was munching away, I heard some trumpets play a really familiar tune and I thought “they can’t be….they aren’t…it’s not….shut the front door it’s ‘What Is Life ‘” which is amazing because how often do you hear a George Harrison track first of all and secondly a song that isn’t ‘My Sweet Lord ‘ or ‘Got My Mind Set On You’.
I was all chuffed so I was.

I mentioned my friend having the Beatles 1 on her phone and my other friend wanted to listen to them (we ended up listening to Franki Valli instead, which is still good). I got really excited and became this while waving my hands around because my friend told me she knew someone who named goldfish after the Beatles but they died the day after because a filter sucked them up. XD Then my other friend said I was born in the wrong decade when she saw my flailing arms.

Was at the football yesterday and two of the chants were Beatley related due to one being sung to the tune of ‘Yellow Submarine ‘ and the other ‘Hey Jude ‘.

Listening to a replay of a Howard Stern interview with Peter Frampton, and Frampton is talking about how he met George when Frampton was a 21 year old phenom. When Frampton walked into the studio, George said “Hello, Pete,” and Frampton was thunder-struck. He looked behind him to see if there was someone else, because he couldn’t believe George knew who he was. They hit it off and Frampton spent quite a few weekends at George’s castle. With Pattie!
