I had *TWO* ahdn_george_08 fab Beatley moments this evening:

One was when I was listening to Yellow Submarine Songtrack on headphones, because I haven’t heard Hey Bulldog in yonks and wanted to hear how the mixes were different, and All Together Now was on. And Silly Mum was talking about the supper and she said something about ‘or shall we cook them All Together Now ?’ And I went, ‘How did you know that’s what I was listening to?!a-hard-days-night-ringo-6 Though I think it was just coincidence, actually. a-hard-days-night-paul-10

The other was when I was washing dishes and A Prairie Home Companion was on, and it was the part where they say the ‘And a very happy twenty-fifth birthday to Jane with love from Mom and Dad. Happy forty-fifth anniversary to Sarah and David, we love you. Best wishes to Andrew…’ and all that, and they were playing music in the background. And I was sort of not really listening, humming ‘The Light That Has Lighted The World’ as it was in my head from when I listened to the album earlier, and then I sort of began to fantasize that the song they were singing was I Will , because it sounded a bit like it. And at that moment my Beatles-radar started blipping, and I yelled

‘THEY’RE SINGING I WILL!!!!!!!’ beatlemaniacs_02_gif

and did something between this

YESSSS.gifImage Enlarger

and this

jumping_up.gifImage Enlarger

And so they were! It was a sort of slow country-bluegrass-ish version of it, laden with harmonies, with a female lead. They then segued into a couple verses of Love Me Do , and then a few from I Want To Hold Your Hand , and many congratulations, birthday wishes, and engagements later, wound up with the last two verses of I Will again.

I was over the moon. beatlemaniacs_02_gif

And if the band on the radio/ Starts playing Beatles tunes/ I’ll see you on the dark side of the moon!

Was in a church this morning where the pastor/minister/reverend (i have no idea what the difference is) started the proceedings with a chorus of ‘All You Need Is Love ‘. Beatles Bible indeed.

From the BBC article ‘10 love songs that aren’t really about love at all‘, one of the songs being ‘More Than Words‘ by Extreme (which is a fabulous track):

This tender and sincere ballad by Extreme, adorned with lovely Everly Brothers harmonies, is actually a passive aggressive whinge by someone who is feeling frisky but thwarted. It’s a twisted arm up behind the back of an unwilling lover, akin to Please Please Me by The Beatles but without the impatient, “Come on! Come on!” come on.

My grandma told me that her neighbor (who is a librarian I know) used to come over to her house to watch the Beatles because her parents didn’t let her. She said, “What harm would that do? It wasn’t like she was going out with them.”

Suffice it to say I cried a little.

I have more about my grandma. (I can’t believe I didn’t post this before.)

I was telling her that I wanted to see Ringo in concert, and she asked who Ringo was. Flabbergasted, I told her that he played in the Beatles and assured her that she knew who they were. She said, “Maybe they’ll be on TV sometime” and I lost it.

I just saw this episode (ok – I only watched half of it – while walking on my treadmill – then I had to quit and do some homework) of Criminal Minds.

Agent Rossi: Look, it was a late night with Ringo and not enough coffee. I mean the guy’s a world-class drummer, but don’t think I didn’t wipe the floor with him in “Rock Band.”

A Day In The Life ‘ has appeared on BBC 4’s list of ten songs banned by the BBC.

Bad Beatles. ahdn_paul_01

They should get Joe on these shows when talking Beatles instead of bland music experts. Would be far more interesting. Can it be in replacement for the pillock who is Stuart Maconie?

I was walking to my locker and I heard 2 girls chattering on about The Beatles, so one girl left the conversation and I decided I needed to suddenly improve my social skills and talk to the other girl. Well…I said about 5 words about the Beatles before I blacked out.

Give them an invite to join the forum. That should spark some easy conversation.

Aww, you poor thing. I feel your pain. I’m very outgoing among people I know, such as you fab Forumpudlians, but talking to strange people is a-hard-days-night-ringo-14

There will be one happy @Zig when he sees this post.

MLB.com seems to have Beatlemania. Here are two of their recent headlines:

In the book I’m reading, the main character calls a man who’s associated with Lee Harvey Oswald. When asked for the name, he gives “John Lennon .”

I’m in a group chat on social media with a few people in my school. Someone renamed the group chat “eggman” and starting singing the lyrics of I Am The Walrus . Someone in the chat was confused what I was even saying, so I told her it was a Beatles song and sent a screenshot of the song. I think she was still confused even after I explained it.

So basically, I found and took an opportunity, and beat the living daylights out of it

And another Criminal Minds episode…

Agent Rossi: That’s a stretch. Celebrity stalkers are usually nonviolent.

Spence: You want to tell that to John Lennon , Rossi? What was it that Mark David Chapman said after he shot him? “It was like all of my nobody-ness and all of his somebody-ness collided.”

I was at Guitar Center earlier (beatlemaniacs_02_gif) trying out the electrics, and this older fellow walked in as I was playing Day Tripper on a fab Fender Strat. I spotted him laughing his head off rather sheepishly, and then heard him say, ‘She’s just playing Day Tripper … I played that when it came out.’ *air guitar* ‘It is a great little lick.’

So, for my voice lessons class, I’m singing Let It Be because the other songs I wanted the teacher couldn’t find the chords for them (blue-meanie), but anyways. At dinner, I was telling my dad to guess what song I was singing. He listed “We Will Rock You” “Another One Bites The Dust” “Help ” “Imagine ” “Hey Jude ” “Live And Let Die ” and a few others until my brother randomly said “Let it be?”. He barely knows who the Beatles are, never mind the song. My mom guessed freaking “Bohemian rhapsody” until I told her.
