Gambit (2012) starring Colin Firth, Cameron Diaz and Alan Rickman just happened to be on BBC2. Already stopped watching ans smacked wrist repeatedly. Yes, I am very very sorry.
However, I noticed first scene between Alan Rickman and Cameron Diaz. He asks her character how she found England, her character replies that she turned right at Greenland.
Remind you of anything?

It is just a great little pun when you spot it. Crap film, but clever pun you’re not spotting unless you know it’s there.
Rather like Madness’ Baggy Trousers’ Hearts Club Band.
‘Twas a little highbrow though!!!

For some odd reason, my local radio station has been obsessed with the melody from Abbey Road (Mean Mr Mustard , Polythene Pam , and She Came In Through The Bathroom Window ) so the station has been playing that for the past few days every time we get in the car to go somewhere. Well, it isn’t a bad thing; the station hasn’t been playing as much Beatles music as usual, so that’s good ‘n gets my approval

At the end of the BBC radio 4 drama ‘The Sitting Room’ there is a really nice instrumental version of ‘Here Comes The Sun ‘.

The other day my cousin came over (to my grandparents’ house, while we were staying there) and I was proudly flaunting my t-shirt
because yeah and she said, ‘I have that exact same shirt!’ (She’s a casual fan, see. I’m doing what I can but I only get the chance to see her once a year so…)
I was playing Past Masters and then Abbey Road and we ended up spending some time chatting about the Fab Four. And when she asked me if I have a celebrity crush, I said, ‘Ladies and gentlemen, may I present…
because YEAH!

In the last episode of top2000 a gogo, the show surrounding the top2000 (annual list of best songs ever as voted by the people) they always have people over to tell a story about how they have met famous people, supported with photographic evidence. On NYE they had two old ladies over who went on the boat to London and met a guy there, and somehow they ended up in Abbey Road and met the Beatles and spent a few days with them. This was in ’67, after Sgt. Pepper . They said they had just come up with the idea for a movie and were working that out, and that they were very proud of that. They couldn’t remember the name of the movie (It was Magical Mystery Tour , obviously).
How cool is that?

I was at the ice-skating rink, and my eye happened to catch a sub-title on the telly, which was playing a show called ‘Teen Titans’. One of the characters said, ‘I get by with a little help from my demons.’

I was going through my extra-credit reading list and the April book, If I Ever Get Out Of Here, is apparently full of Beatley moments– according to its description, Beatles and Paul McCartney songs provide the chapter titles (I immediately thought of Band On The Run when I saw the title), and the two main characters are music-and-Beatles fans. I can’t wait to start reading it!
I swear, my teacher picked that one just for me, and it for my birth-month too.
