In Galway yesterday as I was driving through the hell-hole that is Tuam* I heard John’s ‘Happy Xmas’ on the radio- was nice to hear. Then later when I went into a shop they were playing it again. Lovely stuff.
I went into a music shop as well where I heard ‘Hey Jude ‘ I thought “ohh that’s lovely”. First off because it was 1) A shop not playing Christmas music, the constant repetition of ‘Fairytale of New York’ gets very annoying I tell’s ya, and then 2) As I was walking through it, ‘Hey Jude ‘ ended and ‘Get Back ‘ began, then I realised they were playing the new ‘1’ album which is very cool. I stayed and listened to that and ‘The Ballad Of John And Yoko ‘ before I had to leave.
Later as I was driving home after we had eaten, when I turned on the engine the first song I heard playing on the radio was ‘Wonderful Christmastime ‘.
T’was a great day for Beatley music

A nice simple morning today. We dropped the dog off at the groomer, went to the stables to let the horse out of his stall so he could get some exercise and then off to breakfast at our favorite diner with the missus. While at the stables, I was thinking about how I got to spend the morning with all that I love – how could it possibly get any better? It was at that moment that, on the radio in the barn, I was treated to ‘Happy Xmas (War Is Over)’. What a nice Beatley Moment.

I think we have an answer to the question ‘Who is the 5th Beatle?’
I can speak a little bit of cat. I’ll translate:
“The fifth Beatle was the one who sang the Ahhhs.”

It is, @sigh butterfly. Stonehenge was a stopping point on my and @Ahhh Girl’s trip to Cardiff. We stayed in Salisbury to see the Cathedral (and it’s Magna Carta) along with a visit to Stonehenge that included Circle access (you can only walk around it on normal visits). The following day was Bath to buy Joe a bun (oh, and see the Roman baths there). Then it was onto Cardiff. As to how much the roads intrude on Stonehenge, that’s improving a lot. Originally Stonehenge was between two roads, one that passed incredibly close:
That close road was closed and grassed over a few years ago, starting to return the site to a much more natural environment:
The remaining road, while noticeable, is not too obtrusive. There are now plans to sink the remaining road into a tunnel, restoring the site to its natural environment completely. In time there will be no roads too close to Stonehenge.
This was my first time there since they closed the closest road, and it was like the first time I’d ever seen it. That road (which you can still the scar of above) was really intrusive. It was such a delight to see it gone.
And, yes, it definitely was a fab holiday, and I was so happy AG allowed me to tag along. I’ll admit I almost shed a tear when we said goodbye at Lime Street Station. The best fortnight I’ve had in many years.
Thanks @Ron Nasty – I was wondering what happened to the original road. When my family was there in the 80s they took a bunch of pictures and you can see cars & busses whizzing by extremely close to where they were standing. to the people that are taking the responsibility to become protectors for the site. We plan on moving to the UK for 3 or 4 months in 2017 and will definitely be spending some time around the Salisbury Plains.

Okay so at 2 in the morning last night I got really bored so I booted up my Wii U and made Mii’s of the Beatles. Then I booted up Super Smash Bros. and made Mii fighters of all of the Beatles and then had a deathmatch between them. In the end, Paul was the winner.

Is that one of those the Beatles secrets type shows where some nonentity claims something nobody cares about like John once stood on their foot and didn’t apologise?

It’s very over dramatic. It covers the stuff you would expect like Yoko, Jesus quote, politics, other stuff

Ooh, here’s another one I just remembered: the other day, my family and I went to a Yankee Swap, and one of the things my mom got was round, black sunglasses. I said “If these were bigger, they’d look just like John Lennon glasses!” to my mom when I put them on, and she even was like “THEY DO LOOK LIKE SOME SORT OF HIS GLASSES.” When I put them at the tip of my nose, my mom thinks I look a bit like Yoko. I was wearing them today, and she called me John because of basically what she said two days ago.
