My mam kicked me out of the house at 7:50pm and forced me to go to mass. As I sat there, slowly going demented I could have sworn the priest said “And as Jesus said ‘I Am The Walrus ‘ ” apparently he said “Lamb of God ” but I almost burst out laughing which would have been embarrassing

My advice when going to church is to read the passages. They can be really interesting.

We don’t get any fun booklets or anything to read, we rarely even have a choir a-hard-days-night-paul-10.

Beatles Related question on ‘Only Connect’. Need the exact answer. 4 clues, last 3 in spoilers.

Obama (1965) – Five points if correctly answered

Washington My Dear (1968) – Three points

Roosevelt Rigby (1966) Two points

Hayes In the Sky With Diamonds (1967) One point

Answer

Presidents spouses surnames replacing the names of woman in Beatles songs.

I got it after taking an age working it out.

On a far easier note, one of the quiz question at tonights pub quiz was which band originally had the name ‘The Quarry Men’?

Been playing Beatles in the record shop today and a group of teens came in and were singing along with The White One. They also bought some good records.

Young people with good tastes exist outside of this forum!

They were even singing along to Piggies ! @Starr Shine? would be proud.

ahdn_paul_06Yep – that’s the one!
Makes me wonder if @meanmistermustard sees ads for condiments or if @Ahhh Girl sees ads for anything refreshing.

I’m getting a lot of ads for places in Savannah and Charleston. I’ve been searching and reading about those places because I will be going to them in a few months.

If you mean Charleston, SC, it is a wonderful city. We went there for our 25th anniversary and it’s the best vacation we ever had. I highly recommend the French Quarter Inn. I can’t be sure, but if you look up the word “pamper” in the dictionary, I think they mention the FQI by name!

Yes, Zig, that Charleston. I have a work conference to attend there. I’m taking off a few extra days to do some sight seeing. Mom is going with me. She has wanted to see Savannah ever since she taught a unit on it when she taught third grade. So, we are renting a car and driving down there before the conference starts. In Charleston, we will stay in the conference hotel so work will pay for it.

I was in a park in Budapest and there were bands performing. At frst I wasn’t really interesting but you can obviously guess what happened. I heard something vaguely familiar and one of my friends touched my arm and said ” hey, isn’t this a Beatles song?” so I listened closely and heard they were performing Eleanor Rigby ahdn_george_08

I was with Mama and PapaScruff at a restaurant today (they decided to join me on the Atlantic) and I kid you not, the second I sat down with my food they started playing John songs, “Instant Karma “, “Whatever Gets You Through The Night” and “(Just Like) Starting Over”- t’was great!
