Fun little Beatley moment:
Earlier today I was listening to some music with a friend on her phone, and whenever I saw The Beatles it’s obviously where I went. The first song on the list was It Won’t Be Long , which for some reason surprised me because she’s only a casual fan. For some reason I see that as a lesser known song… I don’t know. But I started that song and we were both singing, but we were both only singing John’s yeahs. So for fun I took Paul’s yeahs and did his whole harmony part which was quite fun. Sounded good…

End story. a-hard-days-night-john-1

PWT… Night forum.

Added my third tattoo on Thursdays. Its a tattoo I have been wanting for a while. Its Beatles/memorial tattoo to my brother.

Description: Blackbirds (Beatles song of course) and then his initials underneath.

Its on the same arm as my other Beatle tattoo.

Before I left for the shop, my tattoo artist friend, whom works at a different shop, was giving away an “Imagine ” tattoo somebody didn’t want. You know he drawn the sketch, but someone decided they didn’t want it after all. I almost thought about getting it, but maybe later.

BEST TYPE OF TATTOO heart

@Zig, are you aware how historically bad my beloved laffable leafs have been doing since  forever  the year started? Breaking “most losses” “fewest goals” etc. records set in the 1920s? Well, as recently as 2011 or 2012 or so, they had a streak where they used to WIN everytime a Beatles song played in the Air Canada Centre! (Check the archives of this thread, or your derail thread, one of ’em) And I haven’t heard any Beatles tracks played on that PA in a long, long time. Which means that my new *dream job* is as the DJ/sound dude in that arena.

Paul: Yeah well… first of all, we’re bringing out a ‘Stamp Out Detroit’ campaign.

I had noticed the woes of your Leafs @Von Bontee . I’m too stunned at the progress my Isles have made after dwelling in the standings basement for so long. It seems like just yesterday they signed a slightly above average goaltender to a 10 year contract. I wish the Leafs success soon as the league just doesn’t complete when any of the Original 6 aren’t performing well.

As for them winning when the PA has the Beatles blaring from it; sounds to me like a letter writing campaign is in order. Or, at worst, hijacking the booth!

Yesterday , I went to the theater where I volunteer and we cleaned up after a morning kids event, which partly involved playing Beatles Rock Band.

…and, right on schedule, Out Of The Blue (-and-white), just hours after I posted here yesterday, the soundman at the ACC plays “Revolution ” last night during the Toronto-Winnipeg game. :) I think it was Revolution , anyways – I can’t recall 100%, as I was visiting a friend and we drank a lot! But it was definitely Beatles…and, as if scripted, Leafs go on to beat Winnipeg in overtime! :D  Already their second victory of the month!  Don’tcha know it’s gonna be all right…

First time I’ve actually ever sat down and watched. She was introducing something from the movie Selma, which was about MLK. I believe it was a song she was introducing. But because it was about the American Civil Rights movement she was naming some major 60’s events, which of course Beatlemania qualifies as!

Weird…I watched like 85% of the thing like always but didn’t see ScarJo. (Show was the usual mixture of the bizarro and bland and awkward and occasionally moving but I was SO happy to see Julianne Moore finally get her golden guy (deserved it years ago)

@Von Bontee the sound man at the ACC must have played the entire White Album tonight. I’m watching Flyers/Leafs with the good guys up 3-0.

Haha yeah @Zig , you almost spoke too soon there! They let in a coupla pp goals and were way outshot but hung in to win 3-2 – their second IN A ROW. So the soundman couldn’t have played “Not A Second Time “! (Actually I didn’t hear any Beatles in the arena but I spent much of the second  w/the sound muted, talking to that same friend on the phone. So I’ll assume they played, uh, that Anthology version of “Glass Onion ” (“It’s a goal! It’s a goal!”) Not quite the White Album but close enough.

Remember, lads:

stay-on-topic

So I was posting on the “What are you listening to right now?” thread, and it was Martha My Dear . And if that isn’t enough, as I typed the words “Martha My Dear “, Paul sang, “Silly girl”… a-hard-days-night-paul-4

I decided to open my work email just now (yes, on a Sunday morning). Squeeeeeeeee! Look what I found!!!!!

ebrary-Paul-book.JPGImage Enlarger

We have a system set up where we load a bunch of ebook records into our library catalog, but we don’t pay (either as a temporary loan or an outright purchase) for any of the books until a patron actually clicks on one of them and views it for a long enough period of time to “trigger” a purchase (loans or purchases are also triggered if the patron prints 1 or more pages, turns a sufficient number of pages, or downloads the book). I get a report each time someone clicks on a book. I wish I knew who clicked on this book! Praeger Singer-Songwriter Collection : Words and Music of Paul McCartney : The Solo Years
