I don’t think so, but the doll behind him sure looks like John.

I didn’t know where to put this, but we have this top2000 thing at the end of each year on the radio. People can vote. Usually Bohemian Rhapsody is #1 (now it’s Hotel California, yuck) and there are usually around 50 Beatles songs in there.
9 have disappeared off the list. NINE.
And what came in their places? S**t like Happy by Pharrell, One Direction, Sam Smith, Gangnam Style, Armin van Buuren etc.
I’m not a happy bunny.

A lady was playing “And I Love Her ” on the piano while I ate lunch today. The chords are sort of melancholy when you take them out of the rock and roll context.

Billboard seen while stuck in traffic. More of an Ahhh Girl moment than a Beatley moment, actually.

Yes @georgiewood, I’ve seen one of those billboards. But I never put it into Ahhh Girl perspective until just now. Kudos!

The morning radio show I listen to, Kevin and Bean, reconnected with a woman who claims to channel songs of famous dead people. They’ve been talking to her for years, and most of the songs comes from John, though some also come from Kurt Cobain. And one hopes there’s no truth value to any of it, because they’re all horrible. This one in particular called “Listen to the Angels Sing” has been haunting Kevin and Bean listeners since the ’90s.

I’m picking up our to-go order at Olive Garden. They are playing a cover of A Hard Day’s Night . I find it interesting that the song can be done in an Olive Garden “vibe”.

The Beatles appeared in ‘The Times‘ sports section of all places yesterday – and chance has it i can quote and link to the relevant section before it hits the paywall (we even get a bonus picture of George from 1965).
I have often wondered whether there is a George Harrison effect in football.
When asked about his songwriting – which produced such classics as Here Comes The Sun and Something – Harrison said he hadn’t considered himself a songwriter, but then he thought: “If John and Paul can do it, how difficult can it be?”
And the article captured – note the image caption.

Not nice of them to talk about teams beating Liverpool while evoking The Beatles. But, my-oh-my, does George look handsome in that picture @AppleScruffJunior.

It’s probably no coincidence, @parlance. At the time, Lennon and Steven Tyler had collaborated on Lennon’s “Everything Changes” album and they still associate.
Found an article on that.

^^ Good catch.
Last night’s episode of John Mulaney’s sitcom started out with a really funny (no, not for the usual reasons) routine on Yoko. Edit: Also, at the 16 minute mark, John’s boss (played by Martin Short) has dinner with “Ringo” (seen only from the back).
Sorry, you probably won’t be able to see this outside the US:

Two similar Beatley (or rather un-Beatley – uggggggg) moments from the past few days:
1. A co-worker told me this story about her friend’s little girl: She asked why people listened to bugs in the 60’s. She heard “Beatles” and thought that people recorded bugs and listened to them. (Hunh, I wonder what bugs would sound like if you were tripping on LSD.)
2. I was in Walmart and heard a little girl’s voice squealing “Beatles. Beatles”. I looked around and saw her sitting in a shopping cart. Much to my disappointment, she was pushing around a box of bug killer in the cart. I told her parents that I love The Beatles and that I was wishing she was talking about the group. They chuckled.

There’s an advert for a music thing I don’t really know what it is, that has a cover of “All You Need Is Love “, at first I though it was awesome, now I hate it. It’s transmitted every five minutes on most of the channels (I think I saw it on Discovery Kids once or twice)
And the other day I was watching a programme and there was a boy named Sean and his parents were called Paul and Jane.

That sounds like good material for the “Beatles Trivia – Even Easier” thread.
