Caught the end of the Simpsons episode ‘Homer Badman’. At the end a current affairs show called ‘Rock Bottom’ displays on screen all the stories they got wrong, one being “The Beatles haven’t reunited to enter kick boxing competitions” (you have to slow down the screen to see it).

For lunch yesterday, Zag and I went to a new restaurant in the area. We were pleased that it had all of the same attributes as our favorite restaurant, right down to the music they play in the background. I said to Zag, “If I hear a Beatles song (our favorite place plays a lot of Beatles/Solo music), it will be perfect”. On our way out, we were treated to the opening line, “You say yes, I say no…”.
Perfect.

My 9 year old nephew just got an Abbey Road CD. He called me and we’ve been singing for almost an hour. We’re having so much fun!

A composer named Warren Bennett has an answer:
John Lennon has joined Twitter.
Well, almost, The Beatles legend has had an ’emoticon’ created in the image of his face by one user using a series of keyboard characters.
London-based composer, Warren Bennett, came up with this nifty Lennon design:

At my internship today, we did this game with the kids where you had to choose a balloon and break it. There would be a little assignment inside. Someone had ”sing a song” and didn’t know a song to sing, so this one 8 year old girl yelled ”YOU SHOULD SING THIS SONG: YOU SAY YES, I SAY NO, YOU SAY STOP, AND I SAY GO GO GO”. I was surprised.

I saw a person today with a John Lennon shirt on the bus and mentioned to them that it was his birthday. They did not know, but were quite surprised about how they just found that shirt today and had not worn it for a while. The the person beside us blew it by saying “John Lennon ? Who is he?”

I got up early today and, forgetting it was Johns birthday as I wasn’t fully awake yet, decided not to wear the big John head shirt I have for some reason and just put on a Beatley one.

They played songs by John (some solo, mostly Beatles) on the radio at work today for a while. It was nice.
"Please don't bring your banjo back, I know where it's been.. I wasn't hardly gone a day, when it became the scene.. Banjos! Banjos! All the time, I can't forget that tune.. and if I ever see another banjo, I'm going out and buy a big balloon!"

The other day, I saw a teenage girl on the street who had a black tee shirt featuring the four mop tops (or, as Yoko would say ‘mop heads, or whatever’). She looked happy.
I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did'.

I was at the movies yesterday. where I was watching Annabelle, and Charles Manson was mentioned, and Helter Skelter .
Also. my Beatlesobsessed uncle was at my grandma’s today. I told you about the Beatles LPs his ex wife had screwed up. He told us today that he got back one LP and wanted to play it today, only to find out that she had scratched her keys over it. What a bitch.

Unabashedly quoting himself, Zig said

Perfect.
So we went back to that same restaurant for lunch yesterday and discovered that it is owned by the same people that own our favorite restaurant. I asked our server about it and he said that is why there were so many similarities – even the music tracks are identical. After he said that, I kept waiting for a Beatles/Solo song to play. Then, again, as we were walking out, we were teated to the opening line, “Imagine there’s no heaven…”
Too flippin’ cool.
