Today before lunch I was working on a rather large data entry project (OK, a completely boring data entry project) while listening to a playlist I put together on my iPod. The list is a random collection of songs that I really like. During my lunch hour, I was reading Tune In and was up to the part where they first met Little Richard. Upon my return to the project and my iPod, the very next song to play was ‘The Girl Can’t Help It’.
You may say it was more of a Little Richardy Moment, but it’s my story…and I’m sticking to it.

Found myself defending Ringo to someone today, after I told him I was going to see him at The Greek on Saturday. The person said, “I wouldn’t see him. He’s the most talentless Beatle.” And I said that even if Ringo’s not the most accomplished songwriter, he gets far too little credit as a drummer. Then I told him that Ringo actually created modern rock drumming, and that was enough to shut him up.

Weird Al was interviewed on Kevin and Bean this morning, and apparently Paul came up during the conversation (I haven’t heard it yet).
And Ralph reported on the new post-recovery Rolling Stone interview with Paul, which became yet another opportunity to make fun of Kevin for hanging up on him. :->

I was volunteering at Cinefamily tonight for a screening of a movie called We Are the Best about three young girls in the 80s trying to start a punk band. The screening was followed by a performance of bands from Camp Rock LA, a rock camp for girls. So the first two rows of the theater were filled with teenagers. And before the movie, we showed the trailer for A Hard Days Night, and some of the girls whooped in appreciation. But the screaming didn’t really get going until Ringo appeared on the screen, causing some adults in the audience to chuckle.
Wasn’t that always the case? Ringo was the kids’ favorite?

Going back to the Donkey question, a small amount of the footage can also be seen in the ‘My Brave Face‘ promo, 6 years before more was seen in the ‘Anthology’ documentary.

I realized that the last episode of the sitcom “Home Improvement” is called The Long And Winding Road . I’m not sure if it’s true but I believe that the reason they call it that is because The Long And Winding Road was the last single before the break-up, and that was the last episode of the series. Is it true?

That episode is also a flashback episode covering “The Long And Winding Road ” of the show before the finale. That’s probably why.
A lot of TV shows use Beatles songs as titles.

The Long And Winding Road was never a UK single. The last single that they approved was Let It Be / You Know My Name (Look Up the Number).

Home Improvement is a US tv show so its possible they were more familiiar with the US singles releases than the UK, especially with it being the last US Beatles #1 single. I think its more down to what Mr. Kite said however.

Kevin and Bean devoted a sketch this morning to Paul’s “Meat Free Mondays” song in which faux-Paul called in to plug a new album of social awareness songs, all with the same melody.
They hate the song but the irony is that they’ve probably given it more press than any other outlet, lol.
