I didnt complain. When i complain it lasts for 5 minutes and usually involves either Apple, Hold Me Tight or Paul’s archive collection.
Hey @meanmistermustard I have seen you on at least one another thread expressing your annoyance for Hold Me Tight . May I ask why? Just curious.

I was in Little Tokyo, which happened to be holding a Ukelele Festival, which, of course, made me thinking of George.

Posted this over in the thread ‘Fillers‘
Ok. The backing track doesnt know if its meant to be fast or slow throughout so changes whenever it flippin’ well wants, John and George sound bored senseless with their backing vocals, and Paul is trying far too hard to energise a track that is going nowhere. Most Beatle tracks that were just there on an album to fill in a song gap have an energy that pounds along for 120 odd seconds or a hook – this one starts off at a pace then cant decide if its going too fast, slow or at the right speed throughout before throwing its arms up in surrender and giving up.
Everytime it comes on i think the backing track sounds good, i like the bouncy feel initially, i’ll concentrate on that to get me through but after 20 seconds i want it off for the above reasons.
There are quite a number of these around but here’s another, this time from ‘This is the most underrated album!’.
For me Hold Me Tight sucks, blows and, well is just unlistenable garbage (i’ll keep it clean). I hate the thing, hate, hate, hate. I’ve said it before but aside from Paul the others are just not interested enough to make it do anything, the rhythm track slows and speeds up whenever it damn well chooses, and it goes on for what seems an eternity. I find nothing to endure it to me and every time i hear it i hate it a little bit more.
Of all the songs the Beatles released this is the one i will skip without question if not playing the album thru and when doing that i have to grin and bear it even before it comes on.
18 months later Paul unleashed That Means A Lot: they re-recorded it when the first attempt didn’t work and tried again, thankfully they realised it wasn’t working so they ditched it, sparing me the hell of having to listen to it on Help! – if only that had happened for Hold Me Tight on With The Beatles. Otherwise the album is amazing.
Yes im off-topic and repeating myself but its nice to completely trash the song every once in a while.

Aw, That Means A Lot is my favourite ditched track!
Anyway, was at my grandma’s birthday and my uncle who I hadn’t seen in years was there. He’s a Beatlesfan and just split uo from his gf, who has broken some of his Beatlesrecords and hid the rest. I died a bit inside when he told that. I mean, what twisted idiot does such things?
Oh and at that exact moment My Sweet Lord came on the radio.

Seems childish and plain rude to have done that. I’m guessing the split wasn’t a peaceful dignified one.

Sorry to hear that. I hope your father is Getting Better from the split. That is just rude to think that she would do that to his records as his property. She doesn’t deserve to be his girlfriend.
By hook or by crook, I'll be last in this book.

I quite like that. Psych was a good show with lots of cultural references. It’s a shame to see them go.

I’ve mentioned elsewhere (1 2) that Kevin, of Kevin and Bean, the morning show at KROQ, got a lot of flak for accidentally hanging up on Paul in the midst of his saying goodbye. The show is on vacation this week, so they’re playing “best of” clips, and today, they played a comedic bit I’d missed the first time where “Paul” (voiced by their resident impersonator, Ralph) keeps calling Kevin only to hang up on him, just to teach him a lesson.

Found some mp3s:
* The original interview
* End of show analysis of Kevin hanging up on him.
* Kevin apologizes to “Paul”
* Showbiz Report from last week mentioning Paul’s recovery.
BKHUPM – Before Kevin Hung Up on Paul McCartney , lol. It never gets old.

PS – a bit of obscure trivia – Bean, the other DJ, is related to Petula Clark.

No, she was a bitch. My uncle suffered from a cerebral infarction a few years ago and she didn’t take that in account, so he wanted to leave. Then she did this, and threw all of his stuff outside in the rain, and told everyone he cheated on her. Scum.

Glad to hear the boot has gone after all that. Better to have loved and lost than be stuck with a right bitch all the years.

A few days ago, in the morning, I was sleeping very deeply. I slept through my alarm, and my parents were unable to wake me up. Then my brother had the idea to put on a Beatles record…
I awoke immediately when I heard the first few lines of “Strawberry Fields Forever .”

I used to have Good Morning Good Morning as my alarm, but the rooster kind of spoiled the fun. I’d wake up immediately and be a bit in shock. Never really got past Good Morning, Good Morning.

Today, at work, “In the Air Tonight,” came on the radio, and someone mentioned this commercial on someone’s computer:
And randomly, someone wondered out loud if the drumming style was based on Paul’s drummer, Abe. So we started talking about Paul shows we’ve seen, his upcoming Dodger Stadium show and my Appreciate video.
