Will there be anyone else who likes P.S. Love Me Do ?I don’t think it’s as bad as everyone on here says it is. I know people on here are trashing it, but Spies Like Us… that’s some hot garbage right there.
Oh, it’s no Spies Like Us. That was just garbage, beginning to end. Still pretty shameful when you destroy your own work. Maybe an idea for a show @WETSRoosa, solo versions of Beatles tracks – How to get it right, and how to get it wrong. @Starr Shine? “Liking it” is a stretch. I don’t totally hate it though (though that’s mainly for its comedy value).
I think you’re thinking of Give My Regards To Broad Street . Or I’m missing something.
? Why would I be thinking of Give My Regards To Broad Street ? That was its own car crash. PS Love Me Do was an entirely different car crash!
Because he butchered his own songs in Give My Regards To Broad Street . I was thinking you were talking about Spies Like Us for some reason.
Sorry for the confusion.

I wonder if PS Love Me Do was a tribute to 25 years since the two songs debut release and the Beatles coming on the scene, it would fit the time scale of when it was recorded.
Spies Like Us is just ok to play thru once every 10 years. Now the 7 minute party remix on the other hand was obviously just put out to torture those fans who slated Give My Regards To Broad Street .

It sounds like Dan Aykroyd who was in the film of the same name – I wouldn’t advise watching the film as its a 102 minute laugh-free comedy.
As for why i post these video’s, well how would you be able to appreciate the great music Paul has put out fully if you don’t hear the bad? Its for your own good. I’m always just thinking of what’s best for you all here when i put up these abominations.

I kind of like ‘Spies Like Us’ *hides under duvet*
(Hell even I’m embarrassed of myself, hate ‘We All Stand Together’ though- if that gets back some of my street cred )

If you like all his horrible stuff, you’ll think stuff like Band On The Run and Jenny Wren are the best things since sliced bread.

I’m a huge fan of We All Stand Together, always have been – and the Finchley Froggetts humming b-side. It heavily irks me when folk throw it out as an insult to Paul’s material; some great lyrics and a beautiful George Martin orchestral score. So to the haters i say
On another matter has anyone got a Beatles moment so we can get back on thread topic?

Are you saying that i’m putting these up so folk here will suffer the same torment i will be facing in a few weeks? I would never do such a thing.

Ringo’s Rotogravure is an album i should never hear any of the tracks again, I loved it as a kid but now every time i hear one of the tracks off it its such a disappointment and the good times shrivel up and fade. Never liked Goodnight Vienna and whilst folk praise his 90’s + stuff i detest the songs La-De-Da and Weight Of The World so I’m Down to one album and a handful of random songs.
Any why is Ringo bald in the video, i thought he shaved his head towards the end of the 70’s so after this period?

Prepping for Mad Men tonight, I’m watching Forrest Gump on AMC (same channel that plays Mad Men) even though I own it on blu ray. Anyways, I just got past the John Lennon part. I also heard rumors for possible Beatles stuff this coming season of Mad Men.

You probably already know this since you watch it, but they played Tomorrow Never Knows once.

In the Parks & Recreation I watched last night, they’re trying to get musicians for a festival, and their list was:
The Beatles
Bob Dylan’s friends (“Why Bob Dylan’s friends?” “Well, I thought maybe they could get Bob Dylan to come”)
Led Zeppelin
Land Ho (fictional band in the show, with Jeff Tweedy playing the frontman!)
