Today, a friend took a group on a VIP tour of some Rose Parade floats, and one of the floats looked very Yellow Submariney, which I asked one of the volunteers about. So if you watch the parade Wednesday, you might catch the one I’m talking about.

If you are watching the parade, the one I was talking about just made its appearance. It’s the crazy Public Storage float that won the Grand Marshal’s trophy with the alien-driven cars that drove off the float and then drove back on. The designer sketched it out when he was only 14. Wonder if he’s a Beatles fan.

Today I played my 2 year old cousin Yellow Submarine and said “This is The Beatles”. Later on, he came to me and said “Play Beatles. Play Beatles”. We were listening to various Beatles songs for a while after that.

From a BBC feature on Sherlock’s return tonight, an interview with Martin Freeman where they discuss Dr Watson getting married.

Freeman joked that “it wasn’t a John and Yoko thing where I said ‘I want my Mrs in this'”.

And in the Father Ted series two episode ‘Rock a Hula Ted’, in one scene Dougal is reading about Niamh Connolly, the female feminist singer who comes to the Island to buy a property, and you can see an advertisement for the Real Love single on the back page of the magazine.

On iTunes, there’s this thing called Match, it’s in the bar at the top, and it’s this cloud storage thing that I don’t get, but anyway, on the home page, it shows a computer with the iTunes library up, and Abbey Road  and Beatles For Sale  are both in the library. A song from Beatles For Sale  is playing, and I think it’s Eight Days A Week , but I’m not sure.

Edit: Fantastic, it worked.

I just watched The Social Network which happened to be on tv, and I didn’t like it that much. Wasn’t what I expected. But Baby You’re A Rich Man played at the end. Pretty fitting.

The Beatles version or a cover?  I haven’t seen the film so have no idea, and if its the one about Facebook i have no interest in discovering.

Yeah, the Beatles version. And yep, that one. I only watched it because there wasn’t really anything else on tv.

Surprised they got a Beatles version, they have a reputation for being difficult to get permission for as well as being very expensive (unless a Beatle gets involved in the sanctioning process).

I’m sure Mark had plenty of $ to pay handsomely.

mmm made a post on the Weird things happening with the forum thread that reminded me of a Beatley moment.

I recently opened an account. The last 3 digits of the account number are 909. a-hard-days-night-john-1 Right place, right time.

For a while if you put on a domestic English football match you’d hear Hey Jude being blasted out at the start of a lot of games, for some reason its changed to Mull Of Kintyre – as heard at Nottingham Forrest v West Ham today in the FA Cup.

We have to do a project about an organisation which consists out of volunteers so we chose one that organizes holidays for disabled people. We had to make a presentation and make our own commercial video about the organisation to accompany it. This girl comes up to me and says ”Hey, we chose a song for the commercial, are you fine with Here Comes The Sun ..by the Beatles?”

If only someone at Marks and Spencer had said those final two words instead of “by Gary Barlow?”blue-meanieblue-meanie

When I watched Let it Be 5 times in a row, just because I’d never seen it before.

We were talking about the people who hide themselves behind a wall of illusion.

I don’t think I’ve mentioned here that I’ve left my little home behind the moon for a three week holiday in Germany!

I’ve been playing and singing on the streets here, and as you can guess, every second of my songs is a Beatles song. Today was a fine day. An old man was listening carefully and singing along all through Help !. He gave me a good tip, too. And another man, who I barely noticed until he came up to speak to me, had been sitting near by with his dog for nearly half an hour. “Thank you so much for the Beatles show,” he said to me, with a small tear in his eye.

I cannot even express my happiness.
The Beatles were pretty successful in this country; who knows, it might work for me as well.

I’ve had 3 wonderful vacations in Germany. Enjoy.

Do you play a guitar while you are singing?

Thank you!
Yes I do, my uncle once bought a guitar, luckily. It hadn’t been used until I laid my hands on it!

Wow. Some people (possibly myself included) find it hard enough to watch it once, but five times in a row? That’s what you call being a dedicated fan.

Moving along in our God given ways, safety is sat by the fire/Sanctuary from these feverish smiles, left with a mark on the door.

It was only two times, don’t lie. And yeah, it was tough to watch. Apart from the tension, it’s really just practicing. Not enough of a plot. I know, I know, it’s a documentary, but those normally tell some kind of story. It’s just a mishmash of rehearsals.

Went grocery shopping and “Ever Present Past” was playing in the store. That was a first.
