Since the topic came up, with two exhibits coming up, I figure this is perfect for starting this thread:
* Examiner article on an exhibit on the new inductees at the Rock n Roll Hall of Fame museum. [x-posted to the Ringo section]
* Article on the upcoming exhibit at the Grammy Museum on Ravi Shankar. [x-posted to the news]

I went to the LADIES AND GENTLEMEN…THE BEATLES! exhibit at the Woody Guthrie Center in Tulsa, OK, yesterday.
I overheard a teenage boy telling his dad and a friend of his about why John used a certain guitar. I started up a conversation with him. He said he had visited the Beatles Bible a couple of years ago and read so much on the site. He thinks @Joe had a wonderful site.
I will post some pictures of things I saw in the exhibit this week.
EDIT: I moved posts numbered 1-6 to this thread on 17 June 2015.

This was a special event so I am going to go ahead and put the pictures here for now. There were so many things there. I’ll put a few here now. I’ll let RN and Joe take a look at the pictures and see if there’s anything else they think I should add.
The Bass Drum Head used on the Ed Sullivan Show

@Ahhh Girl, in the Shea picture there is half a note on an award for ‘I Want To Hold Your Hand ‘, what was the award? Thanks for the pictures, interesting to see the hand-written set lists.

Partly a guess, @meanmistermustard, but based on what’s visible of the notice, I would suggest that it’s the Gold Disc for I Want To Hold Your Hand –
and/or the Meet The Beatles Gold Disc –
which they were presented with by Alan Livingston on 10 February 1964 at the Plaza Hotel.

When I get back to my computer this evening, I will look.
If anyone is concerned, I didn’t get close enough to the jacket to set off the alarms. I stayed a safe distance so that the breath from my heavy breathing didn’t make fog on the glass.

Surely it wouldn’t be hard to convince this person to take the opportunity to go to Austin. It is a really nice city.
I can’t locate a list of upcoming cities that will host the exhibit either. Better go while you can.

Well, we are also saving for another trip to Vegas, where I was planning to see the new Elvis exhibit. I’m trying to convince her we should do both.

Definitely worth the visit, and very cheap. I was surprised to see they had guitars belonging to Elvis and Buddy Holly.
Also enjoyed the letter Stuart wrote to a girl, remembering the summer day they spent on a ferry when the wind blew her dress up.
