I was never a fan of Rock Band, but when i heard of The Beatles game, I loved the idea. Apparently, Dhani Harrison was able to to bridge the Harmonix game company and Apple Core together to create the game. I love the graphics and the ability to have a Hofner 500/1 bass guitar controller and a Ludwig drum controller. And the downloaded songs raise money for charity! All in all, it’s a really good idea. I saw it in the shops, and it was a big deal! Five apples!

I like this game though it’s not that hard on the guitar and bass compared to other Rock Band/Guitar hero games but it stays true to the Beatles

Offline I know this thread was last posted to almost two years ago, but I’m still playing this game after getting it earlier this year. I hope those who wanted the DLC have gotten it, since it looks like PlayStation Store has removed it. Shame, even though it was made available up until this year, for which I’m grateful. Thank you, Dhani Harrison and everyone else who helped make it a reality!

Quite casual, I’d say. Can’t play Drums above Easy yet, but I’m pretty much solid on Medium for Guitar most of the time. The Beatles game seems to be a tad more forgiving than Rock Band 3 and MUCH more forgiving than Guitar Hero. The latter half of 2015 was quite slow since I had a minor hand injury at work so I had to put it down for at least a few months.

Ouch! Hope they weren’t the oyster pearl ones!
I was able to adopt a stray RB drum set off ebay for about 60. It seems to be the only method to obtain the controllers anymore. I wonder if I’ll still be able to approach the games in the same way after playing a proper guitar in the coming weeks. I hope it doesn’t spoil my playing since I do enjoy the Beatles game so much.

Offline The game’s ok, but a bad interpretation of The Beatles for several reasons:
1. Inaccurate instrumentation (ex: having John play an acoustic guitar on Dear Prudence , George playing lead guitar on Back In The USSR , Paul not playing guitar on Sgt. Pepper ‘s Lonely Hearts Club Band, Ringo playing drums on Back In The USSR )
2. Refusing to show Billy Preston, George Martin, Eric Clapton, or anyone else besides the fab four themselves
3. Inaccurate venues (ex: I Me Mine on The Rooftop, Taxman at Budokan, You Won’t See Me at Shea Stadium)
4. Bad choice of songs (hits-wise, ex: Boys and Do You Want To Know A Secret over Please Please Me , I Wanna Be Your Man over All My Loving and She Loves You , I’m Looking Through You over Rock And Roll Music , Taxman and And Your Bird Can Sing over Nowhere Man and We Can Work It Out (somewhat fixed with DLC), Getting Better and Good Morning, Good Morning over Eleanor Rigby and Sgt. Me neither, I just have a regular RB drumset and Fender Strat guitar. But I did get some Ringo Starr drumsticks for about 8 bucks on Amazon ^^

True, there are plenty of things that are nitpick-worthy, Ringo playing drums on Back In The USSR made me LOL. But I’m happy that the game came out, period, even though I’m very late to the party as per usual. =)

So what do they do for the overdubs? John, Paul and George all play drums on ‘Back In The USSR ‘. Paul also plays bass, lead guitar, piano, handclaps, and percussion; it would be chaos and unwatchable if the videos jumped to show every instrument the three played.
Its a game, not a historical representation of the recording of each song. The Beatles didn’t record/play ‘Here Comes The Sun ‘ in a field or stand in a bandstand singing ‘Being For The Benefit Of Mr Kite ‘ either.
Just realised the Rock Band videos are still on youtube. Beatles music!!

Easy fix, my dear meanmistermustard. Just have a multiple for each band member and if it needs more, just forget about it and use the wrong band member then, for example:
Sgt. Pepper ‘s Lonely Hearts Club Band:
John Lennon : Rhythm Guitar (1965 Epiphone ES-230TD Casino), Backing Vocals
Paul McCartney 1: Lead Guitar (1962 Epiphone ES-230TD Casino), Lead Vocals
Paul McCartney 2: Bass Guitar (1964 Rickenbacker 4001S), Backing Vocals
George Harrison : Rhythm Guitar (1964 Gibson SG Standard), Backing Vocals
Ringo Starr : Drums, Backing Vocals
And it’s not even that, it’s also the fact that they get the instruments wrong. For example, on Lucy With The Sky With Diamonds, George uses a Strat, not a Casino and on Dear Prudence , John does not use an acoustic guitar.

Offline Whats a multiple? Multiple options per member?
There is also that a lot of those who bought the game wouldnt know or care that Ringo didn’t play drums on ‘Dear Prudence ‘and his absence would make them peeved; to many the Beatles are John, Paul, George and Ringo and they are not interested in who played what where and when. It’s not like Apple said this is the way it was in the studio.
