Subject of Beatle Babies came up this weekend among us Beatle fans of a certain age… Sharing thoughts. The Lads were raised middle class to poor. All born during WWII when England was being bombed. Times were harsh. Parents were thrifty. The only entertainment was radio and the movies. Imaginations were driven by music unseen and Hollywood heroes. Imagine not being impressed with any music until this white guy who sounded black from America breaks down some barriers when you’re 15-17. You can be that if your parents spring for a cheap guitar or a drum kit. Your whole life is expressed in your music, trying to touch or recreate the magic that opened your eyes and got you out of your circumstances.
The BB’s grew up in a completely different world and circumstance. How can we expect them to have the same vision, drive, fire, sound, talent their Dads did? The Beatles were an accident. That won’t happen again. Bless the BB’s for getting their butts involved in Music and the Creative Arts and most especially charitable causes. There are so many skanky nasty spoiled Star Kids all over the news. Proud of our BB’s! Peace & Love! Carry on!

So, guys, would you wear any of these clothes designed by Stella McCartney?
I used to work at a place that sold Stella-designed lingerie and handbags, never bought anything though.
As a designer she’s alright although her clothes never properly fit the models in her runway shows and it always annoys me e.g. sleeves running inches below hands and all that. I also thinks her general shoe design is rotten, those weird wedge every shoe has, yuck.
I do quite like her handbags and everyone who bought them said they were really durable but I wouldn’t spend €1000 on a handbag so I’ll never get one.
Whenever she custom-designs for people though, nearly everything she makes is gorgeous.
I always find it funny how she prides herself on being a vegan brand but then Nestlé owns part of her brand, when Nestlé are one of the worst companies in the world.

Nah. But then, I’m not a bloke.
I like some of Stella’s designs, but most of it, to me, is ‘meh’ at best and ‘ewww’ at worst. I especially dislike her shoe designs and if the ones these models are wearing are also designed by her, that hasn’t changed with the new clothing line. Oddly enough, I absolutely love the suits and shirts she makes for Paul, so she’s proven to be able to design nice clothes. Nancy’s wedding dress was lovely too. I wonder why her ready-to-wear stuff is so weird, other than the usual nonsense about Linda’s (lack of) style being her influence….
Also, did it irk anyone else that she used the Abbey Road crossing to launch this new line? I mean. we know she’s Paul’s kid, does she really have to use the Beatles’ legacy to make a name for herself?

Considering that my daily outfit consists of a T-shirt, a pair of cargo shorts, and a pair of short white or tall black socks(or one of each when I feel like it), I probably wouldn’t wear these on a normal basis. Maybe for a special occasion I’d wear these…they look like special occasion cloths. Also whats with the giant “MEMBE…illegible letters” scarf?

I’ll give Stella a pass on this one, @Mademoiselle Kitty >^..^<. A little cheesy, but hey, she’s Beatle offspring.

I find Offspring to be a weird word to use instead of children.

I think Stella makes some cute clothes for kids and babies, but her adult clothes don’t really impress me. I also have no reason to spend so much money on clothes, anyways.

Well it’s different because “offspring” includes grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

It doesn’t. It means
“a person’s child or children”

Well another definition is: “the progeny of an animal or plant”
and the definition of “progeny” is: “a person who comes from a particular parent or family : the child or descendant of someone”

“Children” could include grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

“Children” could include grandchildren and great-grandchildren.As far as I know, the only way your child could also be your grandchild is through incest.
“Children” could include grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Also “offspring” sounds cooler.
