That letter has been dismissed by many Scots as embarrassing and cringe worthy and god-forbid that anyone voting is swayed by a celeb’s viewpoint. Comes across to me as when a card is passed around the office for someone who is leaving or is ill – most folk sign it more because its polite and they cannot refuse without looking bad.

You can forget any excitement about the Atlantic City broadcast (see posts 1905 -> 1907 above), posts over at bootlegzone.com are saying the concert KOOL-98.3 FM aired was the 2nd September 1964 Philadelphia show which has been heavily bootlegged.

a-hard-days-night-ringo-8I wish they had something like this near me. Also, unless he is one of the “Many More Surprise Guests”, I notice no mention of Dave Stewart!

Are you going parlance?

Har.

Yes, I’m going to try for a ticket. When I saw “benefit” I thought it would be expensive, but $35 isn’t bad at all.

This isn’t a subject I like to discuss, and I am a bit hesitant to make this post, but since it relates to the Beatles, I will put it here.

Ringo Starr disgusted by ISIS ‘Beatles’ nickname: ‘It’s b******t. They’re against everything we stood for’

Ringo Starr is disgusted that British jihadis in Syria have been nicknamed ‘The Beatles’, claiming ISIS is against everything his former band stood for.

The nickname was revealed by a former ISIS captive who said the gang of British extremists had been compared to the group from Liverpool because of their accents.

The man thought to be responsible for beheading American journalists James Foley and Steven Sotloff has been dubbed ‘Jihadi John’, while two other British jihadis are being called Paul and Ringo.

Now the drummer has spoken out saying that it is ‘b******t’ that they have these names as it goes against The Beatles’ ideology of peace and love.
Mr Starr told the London Evening Standard: ‘What they are doing out there is against everything The Beatles stood for.
‘If we stood for anything we never stood for that. The four of us absolutely stood for peace and love.’

But, the 74-year-old admits that he and the only other surviving Beatle Paul McCartney are powerless to stop their names being linked to the fanatics despite their fans’ fury over their names being linked to the ISIS members.

Ringo’s Rydinghurst Estate in Surrey

A little bit from the article

Only a few months ago he declared England would always be his home, but I can reveal now that Ringo Starr is selling his 200-acre Surrey estate and moving to the United States.
Ringo, who first swapped Liverpool for Surrey in 1965, bought the Rydinghurst Estate near Cranleigh in 1999 and has lived in its 17th Century mansion ever since.
But the lure of California’s sunshine and healthy living has proved too much for the Beatles drummer – he and his wife Barbara Bach, a former Bond Girl, are set make Los Angeles their main home.

‘We’ve had it for 15 years but we don’t spend enough time there, and LA is the right place for us to be now. It’s not that sad, because it’s time for a change.

‘And the weather is better over there. I’m really into the healthy lifestyle that they have out in LA.

‘I do yoga every day and eat healthily. I’m obsessed with broccoli – I eat it every day with absolutely everything.

‘No matter what, I always add broccoli. It’s become a running joke – my wife makes fun of me for it.

‘Even when I cook a basic dish like pasta and pesto I throw in some broccoli. I don’t have it with breakfast though – that would be strange. But broccoli is my secret to looking young.’

Broccoli, anyone?
