I’d read about that in the past, but was not aware of the character assignments. Thanks for posting that.

Thanks @parlance . I watched those movies so many times that I got burned out on them and did not pay much attention to that thread. Sounds like there may be some interesting stuff within.
EDIT: I just noticed…parl?

For those in the LA area. Posted at FB:
To celebrate the 50th anniversary of the August 11, 1964 U.S. premiere of “A Hard Day’s Night ,” Malibu Film Society will be showing the newly restored, remixed version of the film which completely reimagined the movie musical and laid the groundwork for the modern music video.
The film will be shown Friday and Saturday, August 8-9 at the Malibu Screening Room located at 24855 Pacific Coast Highway (1/2 mile up the coast from Pepperdine University). Both Saturday screenings will feature book-signings and an audience Q&A with author Ivor Davis, the journalist who traveled alongside The Beatles for their first U.S. tour.
Davis’ first-hand account of that experience is chronicled in the brand new book, “The Beatles and Me on Tour.” While there have been previous efforts to cobble together various bits and pieces, this book marks the first time the complete story has been told by someone who was actually there for the entire experience.
The movie itself has been meticulously restored from the original camera negative using a 4K high-definition digital scanner, and the original mono recordings have been completely remixed for 5.1 surround sound by Giles Martin (son of the Beatles’ original producer and arranger, Sir George Martin).
Tickets for all four shows are on sale now at http://www.MalibuFilmSociety.org.

Also, from Japan Times:
Artist Yoko Ono on Wednesday urged youngsters gathered at a peace event in Hiroshima to help teach the world about the experiences of the city that was devastated by a U.S. atomic bomb on Aug. 6, 1945.
The 81-year-old widow of John Lennon told roughly 300 participants: ” ‘No more Hiroshima’ is a global issue. I want you to spread the experiences of Hiroshima to the world as much as possible.”
The event was planned by college students in Hiroshima Prefecture who believe it is young generations’ responsibility to build a peaceful world by inheriting their forebears’ experiences, according to organizers.
Terue Toda, 82, a survivor of the atomic bombing, lamented the current situation, saying at the event that “many people seem to be forgetting” the A-bomb attack.
Nao Fukuoka, a 21-year-old Hiroshima University student whose grandfather lived through the bombing, said: “My roots are in Hiroshima. I can empathize with sad incidents taking place all over the world.”
Fukuoka has taken part in a voyage across the globe with A-bomb victims.

News in the very least sense of the concept but “I am the eggman, they are the eggmen, I Am The Walrus , goo goo g’joob.” from ‘I Am The Walrus ‘ has been voted second in a competition to find the weird lyric, number 1 was The Killer’s “are we human or are we dancer” which is in the song ‘Human’ (source: BBC Newsbeat).

Thanks for that one. @parlance . When I read your post, I was so hoping they saw the film at the Casino. It is a very cool monument (can’t call it a building – wouldn’t do it justice). I’m sure you’ve been to Catalina – if not, put it on your list of “must visits”.

I have! Only one trip, though, as the ferry is rather expensive. I was fortunate enough to be hosted by an island native. And, yes, the Casino is beautiful.

Vivek Tiwary is an author, Broadway theater producer and founder of Tiwary Entertainment Group. Tiwary’s debut graphic novel, “The Fifth Beatle” (Dark Horse ), tells the true story of Brian Epstein, the visionary manager behind the spotlight who led the Beatles to stardom. Despite his ambitious drive and pivotal role in mobilizing what would later become the most influential rock/pop band of all time, “The Fifth Beatle” reveals the brief life of Epstein, a tale of both triumph and tragedy. Tiwary portrays the story of a flawed and imperfect hero troubled by personal obstacles. “The Fifth Beatle” is written by Tiwary, with art illustrations by Andrew Robinson and Kyle Baker and lettering by Steve Dutro. It is a No. 1 New York Times best-seller and will be adapted into a feature film this year.

Door of Sir Paul McCartney ‘s childhood home to go under the hammer
http://www.itv.com/news/granad…..he-hammer/
Wonder if it is a silver hammer
Beatles fans are expected to pay out thousands of pounds for the chance to own the old front door from Sir Paul McCartney ‘s childhood home.
The door, from the former Beatle’s home in Forthlin Road, Liverpool, is up for auction as part of Christie’s Out of the Ordinary sale on September 3 and is expected to fetch around £8,000.
McCartney’s family moved to the council house in 1956 and it is where the band first rehearsed and where early hits including Love Me Do and I Saw Her Standing There were written.
The door was removed when the house was refurbished in 1978 and has passed through several hands before being offered for sale.

Maybe it failed to sell. Maybe they should take it door to door to sell.
Why anyone would want a door once owned used by Paul is what puzzles me.
