There is a special edition of TV Guide Magazine out right now dedicated to The Beatles.
I just bought a copy at the grocery store.
I threw some things into the picture a few of you might recognize. Thanks for the mouse pad and cup, Ex Tex.
My handwriting it neater than what you see here. These were some fast notes I jotted down on a bank deposit slip so I wouldn’t forget the ideas for the BB. Joe may recognize some of the notes from housekeeping.

I consciously put the mouse there. I don’t know why I was worried about it though now that I think about the John and Yoko smiley Joe has on the forum.

Your mouse is well placed.
This phrase, devoid of any context, has the kind of whacky ring to it that John Lennon loved. He would have gleefully recorded this sentence, and instructed George Martin to edit it in at the end of “I Am The Walrus .” Or, maybe stuck it in “Revolution 9 .” And Beatles fans would be analyzing the hidden meaning of the phrase for years to come.

Great find, parlance.
My favorite part was:
Now you’re back on the road, on a tour that’s been rolling for more than a year. What keeps you going?
Well, I’m always reminded of when I was a kid and I used to go to shows. This was pre-pre-pre-Beatles. I was just a little kid in Liverpool with no money, and I’d be saving up forever. It’d be really good if the show satisfied me – and it really pissed me off if it didn’t. So I have this thing, which is that these people have paid money. They’re not necessarily all going be that flush, so let’s give them a good night out. Let’s have a party. Let’s make it a fiesta kind of thing, so everyone goes home and thinks, “Yeah, I didn’t mind spending that money.” That’s the philosophy behind a lot of what I do.
I kept thinking about that when I saw him two weeks ago. In the next paragraph he talked about the Bill Haley show he went to as a kid and that story has stuck with me. No matter what you spend on McCartney tix, it is worth every penny. I was wiped out after the show.

I had looked around awhile and found nothing – but they are indeed using a fish-eye lens and taken in 1966. I think I spoke too soon when I said they were from Rishikesh. At least one has the Taj Mahal (or a hotel by the same name…I don’t notice a gold roof in the background and the trip, during which George received sitar lessons from Ravi, was supposedly spent in the Taj Mahal hotel in Mumbai. All the articles I found said the meetings took place in Mumbai.
I do think the one I linked to has all of them, or all that came out in this batch (not positive)

Oh, the irony.
A tree planted to honor of the memory of the Beatles songwriter George Harrison has been killed by actual beetles. As the Los Angeles Times reports, the living local monument fell victim to an infestation of insects that couldn’t be bested. According to Councilman Tom LaBonge, the 10-foot-tall pine planted in 2004 bit the dust only recently, and a new one will be planted in its stead shortly.
Harrison’s last years were spent living in L.A. — he died there at 58 in late 2001, and was cremated at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. The so-called George Harrison Tree was accompanied by a plaque reading: “In memory of a great humanitarian who touched the world as an artist, a musician and a gardener.” It includes a quote from the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi: “For the forest to be green, each tree must be green”
The plaque (and the forthcoming tree) is located near the city’s famous Griffith Observatory. The memorial has one very glowing review on Yelp (with photos), which now reads more as a eulogy to the tree that was:
On the day I was there, many tourists and visitors, in fact, walked right by it without noticing it at all. There is no signage that leads people to the tree, and the memorial plaque is near the ground and out-of-sight. Furthermore, I didn’t see any buskers or fans with guitars either playing “Here Comes The Sun ,” “Something ,” or “My Sweet Lord ” (or any of Harrison’s many other well known songs). Instead, with my own private thoughts and reflections, I enjoyed that pine tree in peace just as George, I’m sure, would have wanted it.
Comment posted at Facebook: “Here comes the pun.” *facepalm*
