All links x-posted where appropriate:
* Ringo birthday links: Examiner article on Ringo’s birthday celebration, my report from there, and the page from the David Lynch foundation site on the peacerocks campaign.
* Paul’s newest video, for “Early Days ” is up at YouTube. Here’s the Rolling Stone article on it.
* In case you didn’t see the links, meanmistermustard posted the Examiner link on Paul’s first show since his illness, in Albany (beware spoilers).
* Since at least one of our regular posters is in Japan (@C.R.A.), you might be interested in this about an insert in the Japan Box, from Beatles Blog:
“The text reads that you can enter a draw to win a special, one-song promo CD (not for sale) of “I Want To Hold Your Hand ” – complete with the original Japanese 7-inch cover reproduced for the CD sleeve. The deadline is postmarked 9 July (in Japan) though….”
Sadly, the CD Japan site also says that this special offer/application postcard is valid only for purchases in Japan….
So, it looks like only a few lucky Japanese Beatle fans will be getting what undoubtably will become a collectors item to add to their Japan Box box sets.

Was waiting for that video to get released! Not what I expected (re: hoping for) but still… well done.
And thanks for the info on the box. I’ll have to check on that!

* Ringo helped launch a new exhibit in Verona, NY:
Central New Yorkers no longer need to go all the way to Hollywood’s famous Chinese Theatre to see their favorite celebrities’ handprints.
The Turning Stone Resort & Casino launched its new Hands of Fame exhibit on Monday, which will memorialize musicians and other performers who come to the Verona, N.Y. entertainment venue. And the first handprint on display is none other than one of the Beatles.
* From Broadway World:
Epstein: The Man Who Made The Beatles – the long-awaited play about the legendary music manager Brian Epstein – officially opens at London’s Leicester Square Theatre in a ‘Fab Four’ weeks on Mon 4th August (previews from Wed 30 July) and will continue throughout the summer until Sat 6 September.

Ron Howard is directing an Apple-approved documentary about The Beatles on tour. I guess this is the project Apple was asking everyone to send in their video footage for.

Ah, the fly-by-night Beatles Live! Project may finally be coming back to life in a different form? Ron Howard had nothing to do with the original project…wonder how he got onboard if this is indeed the revived project?

Sounds like it is – both the Variety and Hollywood Reporter articles mention the the project will incorporate footage shot by fans. Maybe the plan all along was to bring a seasoned director aboard.
