Did we make any predictions in that time capsule thread about which project would make it to the public first?

Some predictions were silly but none were delusional.

From the Oneida Dispatch:

BETHEL, N.Y. (AP) >> The upstate New York museum at the site of the original Woodstock concert is focusing on the Beatles this summer.

The Bethel Woods Center for the Arts in Sullivan County says it is joining with the National Council for the Social Studies to present a series of workshops that will focus on the Beatles and the band’s impact.

The Beatles did not play at the Woodstock concert at Bethel in 1969, but the Museum at Bethel Woods focuses broadly on 1960s culture.

Workshops next month will explore topics including, “How the Beatles Became the Beatles,” and “John Lennon and Radical Politics.”

The museum is marking the 50th anniversary of the Beatles’ first trip to the United States.

Examiner reports on the airing of a 30 second tape of the bit of music Ringo blasts out of his transistor radio in AHDN ‘ and is commonly referred to as ‘Train Music’. There has always been discussions on whether or not it’s the Beatles playing and this article goes in to that a little. The beatlesbible.com forum gets a mention and link too (we should start documenting all the news articles that refer back to this site).

X-posted in the ‘A Hard Day’s Night‘ film thread.

Great idea, mmm. @Joe has an alert set for all mentions of the BB so perhaps he can create a thread for those mentions. He mentioned that his alert wouldn’t have caught the story that @Expert Textpert found the other day where the site’s name wasn’t spelled correctly.

…and I haven’t searched to see if you have already collected the stories somewhere on the site, Joe.

That is, of course, if Joe has time to do it. If not, we can chip in and help him find and post them.

I haven’t really got anything reliable working. I set a Google alert for links to http://www.beatlesbible.com, but of course that’s the homepage and I have thousands of other pages here. I get alerts occasionally, not very often, so it’s probably not set up as effectively as it could be.

Having a thread for mentions of this site would be good though, but probably not every single one. I get quite a lot of links from the Steve Hoffman forum, for example, and it’s not worth reposting everything. But if a site like HuffPo or NYT links to me, ie proper features or stories, it’d be nice to have them archived somewhere.

I’m with you there. Maybe we can set up a thread for notable mentions in the articles. Keep up the good work, Joe!

The information is in the link parlance provided.

Here’s a snippet. There’s more in the story.

So we spoke with LINE and they were great in helping us to get the stickers designed. Below is one that was very popular with Paul’s fans.

Following the launch in October, the success of Paul’s LINE account was incredible! After just a few weeks he had attracted around 3 million followers. We were happy it was doing so well but when Paul flew to Japan the following month for his tour that’s when things started getting really crazy.

I figured it would explode like that. 3 million followers? I couldn’t get that if I paid my “followers” 50 bucks a pop!

* A letter from Ringo to his then-girlfriend, Doreen Speight, about joining the Beatles sold for £16,250/$27,600.

* Daily Mail article about the abandoned Indian ashram in Rishikesh that housed the Beatles in 1968 becoming a shrine for Beatle fans. Beautiful photos.

I live in Japan and have an iPhone with LINE.  And macca’s one of my two ‘official’ accounts (the other is a local convenience store chain – don’t ask).  Every Thursday is ‘Throwback Thursday’ and you get the occasional tour update or video release or new material sort of thing.  Last message I got was that McCartney will perform at the Greensboro Coliseum on 30 October.  It’s not an intrusive (constantly updating) account, so I keep it for grins.

27,000 dollars, huh? I wish I had that much money. And I can totally see why they’d like to visit the abandoned ashram in Rishikesh. It is quite amazing what they’ve done.
