I wonder if they’re gonna get a lot of bids!

Someone posted this under the article: “the pictures are from September 1971 after the Concert for Bangladesh”
To which someone else responded: “yes, at the st regis hotel in nyc during the filming of Imagine “
I hope whoever buys them does their homework first, to be safe.

Thanks for the article link, parlance.
I was relieved to read that it is a drwaing and not a raffle or an auction type deal that goes to the highest bidder.
It seems to me it is a raffle though – the more you donate, the more entries you get.

Wogblog reports that that three separate lots of reel to reel tapes, all from the 16th October 1964, are to be auctioned on Friday (20th June) at Christie’s. The first reel-to-reel is the previously unheard concert at the A.B.C. Theatre, Hull, the second featuring Paul playing the piano during a press conference with John, Ringo and George joining in on vocals, the third a previously unheard interview with John. Far more details in the link.
A second Wogblog article reports on the upcoming Blue Plaque in memory of Brian Epstein which “will be unveiled at 12 noon on Sunday 29th June, at Sutherland House, 5/6 Argyll Street, London W1 next door to the London Palladium”.

Fundraising talk in Boston this Sunday:
LENOX – Four decades after Beatlemania swept the world, the groundbreaking group of four mop-top lads from Liverpool continues to fascinate music lovers of all ages.
The reasons for the Beatles’ genre-defying appeal will be explored this Sunday in a multimedia presentation at the Lenox Library by Boston University music professor Jeremy Yudkin, a Stockbridge resident.
Yudkin’s expertise extends from medieval and renaissance music to Western art music in all its forms, as well as jazz and rock. He specializes in the connections among music, culture, history and social forces.
The event, a fundraiser for the Lenox Library, is at 4 p.m. on June 22. Suggested donation for “The Beatles, the Sixties and Popular Culture” is $15 per person or $20 per family.

Uh-oh. The show seems to be a no-go for now. “The proposal is still on the table” though.

I always wanted to make a Beatles mini-TV series :/ I’m sure there are people out there who sound very close to the actual Beatles and the actors could lip sync to them (Fab Faux maybe?).
It’s a blessing and a curse that It’s So Hard to get rights to Beatles’ music.

A number of Beatles programs and films have used sound-a-likes for the music and the actors simply mime to the music (some films don’t even bother and just play the music over the action), however the bands generally suck and make you want to break the tv.
