Not strictly Beatles news, but a new ad in the UK is using a Beatles song. This is the full-length version, and you can spot the author Terry Pratchett as one of the singers.

And, of course, one of Alex Salmond’s first acts after being made King of Scotland will be to ban the capitalist Beatles, listening to punishable by death, and only Mull Of Kintyre is allowed listening. And Give My Regards To Broad Street . Alex likes that for some reason. Nutter!

Salmond will make allowance for The Beatles as The Beatles loved Scotland and the audiences at the concerts. He likes to picks and choose things depending on their popularity with the Scots so the first few months of independence will be consultancies on what are really Scottish – we’ll then launch a raid on England claiming what we want all for us.
Mull Of Kintyre with some alterations of the words might become our new anthem.
This is off topic.

I like that for some reason as well – possibly sentimental reasons as it was the last solo Beatles album I bought on release until last year.
