Why was Paul invited? He hasn’t been involved with any films.I was going to go and see 12 Years A Slave, but I couldn’t get anyone to go with me – ha! I should learn to go alone because I really wish I’d gone now.
Edit: I’ve just been told they’re still showing it, so maybe I’ll go.
Oh you should go! It’s very good, but some of it is really extreme. I cried at bits and had to look away. It’s awful to think that things like this really happened.
Good that it won some Oscars, really deserved it.

Ringo news:

Ringo Starr is at work on his first studio project since the aptly named Ringo 2012, with Steve Lukather again at his side. The Toto guitarist, a current member of the All Starr Band, tells us he wrote a song for the as-yet-unnamed album.

Funny they give Paul the title ‘the songwriter’. I’d have put him down as a ‘conqueror’ and a ‘innovator’, too.
Also, I think calling the Dave Clark Five ”legendary” is pushing it a bit. There’s some big names appearing on the show, though.

I was thinking the same.

I think it’s appropriate. I’m not a fan, and I’m probably too young to appreciate their legacy. But they were inducted in the R&R Hall of Fame, so they must have had some influence.

Paul news:
* In case you missed it, Ahhh Girl reported elsewhere that Paul called in to adult-alternative radio station KCSN in Los Angeles to thank them for their support of “NEW,” and the call turned into an hour-long interview in which he mentioned a video he shot for “Early Days ” and an animated project he’s working on. The audio is now up.
* Also, Paul has a new Twitter account in Spanish. Get ready for announcements.

Paul made #21 in the Billboard Rich List, reports Examiner, with $13,769,479.16. Taylor Swift was #1 with a quiet eye-blowing $39,699,575.60
I presume its for the year 2013 but if it was $13m for the tour and the rest from sales of New then this does not include royalties from his back catalogue as surely he made more than a $1m thru the Beatles and his solo work in a year. Anyone know? Oh, and who is Kenny Chesney (#2)? Only singer i know with Chesney in the name is Chesney Hawkes (that two hit wonder) – he also starred in a film called Buddy’s Song which was rather good, or was that the book i’m thinking of?

More culinary adventures for Paul in LA:
Sir Paul McCartney had a special dish made for him at a restaurant in Hollywood.
The vegetarian ‘Please Please Me ‘ singer and his wife, Nancy Shevell, ate with his former The Beatles bandmate Ringo Starr and his spouse, Barbara Bach, at upmarket eatery Il Piccolino, but when he couldn’t decide what he wanted from the menu, the owner took him to speak to the chef and they came up with an appetizing dish.
A source said: “The owner, a friend, escorted the ex-Beatle into the kitchen where Paul – who loves to cook – watched intently as the chef prepared veggies chosen by the star.”
The star was then thrilled when he even got a special extra treat with his dinner – the recipe written out just for him.
The source added to National Enquirer magazine: “Paul went back to his table and was thrilled when his repast arrived, complete with the chef’s handwritten recipe.”
Paul has previously spoken of how much he enjoys the “creative” vegetarian food options available in restaurants.
He said: “Even 20 years ago, it could sometimes be difficult to find vegetarian options in good restaurants. Now it’s great to see more and more choice with some brilliant creative dishes in restaurants, cafés and supermarkets. There is definitely now an overall greater acceptance of being vegetarian.”

As much as I love Paul, I don’t really see why he should get such special treatment. In my experience, most restaurants usually have just a handful of veggie options, so it’s hardly as though he was spoilt for choice. (also ”the Please Please Me singer”? – it makes him sound like that’s the only hit he’s had).

Kenny Chesney is an awesome country music singer. He grew up in East Tennessee, wetsroosa’s neck of the woods.

My favorite song of his is Boys of Fall which is about American high school football.

It doesn’t bug me, but at any rate, it did say the owner is a friend. Why not? It was probably fun to watch the food being made.
I imagine the special treatment that rich people get that we don’t know about would make our heads spin.

Un poco. From high school. And I live in LA, so it’s helpful.
I’m impressed because I’m not aware of other celebs who bother creating Twitter accounts in different languages. It’s very smart.
