Paul news:
* From Paul’s FB: he has signed up with Japanese social media site Line which will release some adorable stickers of a Chibi-style Paul next week.
* From The Express, via Beatles News, Chris Evans put Paul on the spot and got him to agree to an intimate pub gig during June of next year if he’s available and if fans can raise £1 million in charity for Children in Need.
Ringo news:
* Joe pointed out in the new books thread:
Staying with Ringo, the illustrated Octopus’s Garden children’s book has dropped in price to a fiver on Amazon.co.uk. I’d pre-ordered at £12.99 so I’m happy they charge the lowest price.
* Regarding Ringo’s other book [also x-posted at the new books thread]: Just got another email from Genesis. The deluxe edition of Photograph is available for pre-order. Turns out it’s actually more expensive to pre-order than to attend the event next week with the VIP pass:
£595 (about $961) to pre-order vs $740 for the event’s VIP pass, which includes the book, breakfast, a tote bag and admission to a concert.
I don’t know who this applies to, but… if you have the cash and you were holding out on a pre-order… maybe you should just go.
Live At The BBC Vol. 2
* WogBlog has images and a track listing of Vol. 2.

I thought I was going crazy when I heard him play the song New twice, but then I replayed and he said “we’re going to do the first one over”. I wish he would have played others songs off the album. I know its sampling and all and maybe I’m tired of “New” because I’ve heard it so much in the past weeks even for advertisements on youtube.

I’m glad I’m not tired of it…I intentionally didn’t listen to it until a day before the album came out, when I saw the a live performance on the internet.

For UK people: Macca will be on the Graham Norton Show at 22.35 tonight
BBC1 and then soon after on the iplayer.
Thanks emily, i had forgotten. Should be noted that with the Graham Norton Show the guests are on the whole way thru, its not just a short interview and off you go, so hopefully Paul is not just playing a song.
I’ll record it and then watch it later.

I’ve seen a few episodes on youtube and really like how the guests interact with other guests. Wish more shows did that over here in America.
Can someone post the videos after the show airs? Thank you

I don’t watch Jay Leno but guests used to stick around for Carson. I guess people are too busy now.
Also, Paul’s on NPR’s World Cafe today.
Edit: Thanks, MMM.

Maybe its just me but to have a line up of James Cordon, Katy Perry, Chris Hemsworth & Natalie Portman and Paul is the big name seems strange because it’s Paul and i’ve known him, well been a big fan, for so long yet its so cool that someone like Katy Perry (who is huge) is second billing but also a huge fan. I also wonder if Katy saying she loves Ram On will get some of her fans checking it out.
So this isnt just my witherings James Cordon named his son after Paul in return for Paul agreeing to appear in a Comic Relief sketch a couple of years back.

It was definitely some line-up. Can’t stand GN but I was laughing the whole way through last night’s episode. I love James Corden, so it was a nice surprise to have him on there too.
It seemed all the other guests, except maybe the actor, had some kind of a connection to Paul. I enjoyed it.

Thanks for the clips. I love Katy Perry more now after you’ve told me that. lol I loved it when Paul started walking off and she pulled him back.
Paul on NPR might be the first time I actually listen to that station.
Edit: It actually wasn’t that bad of an interview. Not the greatest, but more than I expected from NPR.

KCSN in LA is doing a fund-drive and on “Saturday Morning with the Beatles,” a woman from Concord Music Group donated 10 swag bags with things like the lighted cube, the limited edition 7″ for “Another Day ” from Record Store Day, the Live Kisses 7″ promo and the Wings Over America 2 CD/1DVD set for a donation of $120 if you call in at 1-800-795-5276. You have another hour (it’s 11am PST).
Edit: The first 10 bags sold out and they just added 10 more bags. I’d called to request “Appreciate” and the host played it in appreciation of the record company woman and myself. ;-D
I see also that Ringo donated an autographed drum head – that’s for a donation of $600. Edit: Sold.
And for a $50 pledge, you can get a pair of tickets to see The Fab Four tribute band in February, and for $75 they are making a copy of Live At The BBC Vol. 2 available before it’s officially released.

That one’s from All Things Considered, btw. This is the World Cafe interview.
x-posts on more recent and upcoming Paul interviews:
* meanmistermustard posted this elsewhere: A BBC video after the Covent Garden performance and Graham Norton.
* Absolute Radio interview
*Via The Examiner: Dave Marsh interviewed Paul for Sirius XM, and that will run tomorrow:
The interview features McCartney discussing writing and recording songs for the “NEW” album and reflecting on his days as a Beatle. The program will air at 10 a.m. ET/7 a.m. PT on Sirius/XM‘s the Spectrum Channel 28.
