I’ll have to listen that later. The FAQ 2.0 is the FB home of Robert Rodriguez and Stuart Shea. If they linked to a fake, then, yeah, an honest mistake, but, as Joe pointed out in another thread, RR is respected for being more rigorous in his research.

* From CBC News:
Survivors of the disaster in Lac-Mégantic have been offered a brief moment of respite in the form of one of the world’s most famous musicians.
[…]
The concert organizer said the idea behind the ticket offer was to give residents of the devastated town some time away from the stress they’ve experienced since the incident.
“We want to give them a break — a few hours of happiness that will allow them to not think about this tragedy that they’ve been immersed in for nearly two weeks,” Daniel Gélinas, chief executive of E3, which is promoting the show, said in a release.
Paul McCartney ’s team were informed of the idea and quickly agreed, the company said.
* A new documentary being released on DVD. I need to have this one.
Paul McCartney himself held ties with many of the instrumental players in the UK’s movement, and through his public persona, he helped establish many of their radical ideas in the mainstream. Now the new documentary Going Underground explores the history of the London-based counterculture scene, as well as its impact on McCartney and The Beatles.
* As Paul is performing in Seattle tonight, here’s the story of a Seattle DJ falling for an elaborate hoax in 1966:
“The Sigma Chi house of Seattle was given the grand award of Sigma Chi for pulling the greatest stunt of that year of any chapter. The stunt was the marriage of Paul McCartney and they had planned the whole thing,” O’Day laughs.
* A new Beatles-related iTunes app:
A new app in the Apple iTunes store that tour sites where the Beatles lived, played and recorded is the first in a new series, Mark Schneegurt told us July 18.
* Link to Larry King’s interview with Julian from this past week.

From the Hollywood Reporter:
The Paul McCartney -fronted version of Nirvana is back. And this time they’ve regrouped in Seattle.
During his “Out There” North American tour, the former Beatle played at Safeco Field on Friday night where he was joined by Dave Grohl, Krist Novoselic and Pat Smear of the grunge band, the Seattle Times reports.

* Rarely seen Beatles photos from 1964 to be exhibited at David Anthony Fine Art in Taos, New Mexico
A series of rare photographs, taken by Washington DC-based photographer Mike Mitchell during the Beatles’ 1964 inaugural United States stage concert, will be the centerpiece of the annual Fine Art Photography Invitational to be held at David Anthony Fine Art Taos New Mexico, from August 2, 2013 through August 30, 2013. The 18 limited edition prints are the first series of the Beatles photographs shown since the 2011 Christie’s auction, “The Beatles Illuminated: The Discovered Works of Mike Mitchell,” which consisted of a one-a-kind edition that achieved more than $360,000 when auctioned. This Taos exhibition, called “Heading for the Light,” will be the first time the photos have been exhibited and on sale since the New York auction. Prices for the prints start at $2,000 and range to $34,000.

Paul McCartney brought out a couple of rarities for fans at the Plains of Abraham in Quebec City July 23.
For the first time on the Out There! tour, he played “Birthday ” and added both “Michelle ” and “Ram On ” to the setlist for just the second time. He did not, however, play “Mull Of Kintyre ,” which he played in Ottawa and usually plays at Canadian shows. “Hi Hi Hi ,” which has been played through the tour, but was skipped in Seattle, was brought back.
The tour takes over two weeks off before heading to San Francisco and the Outside Lands festival Aug. 9.
Ahhhhh! Getting excited!

* Interview with Paul at RollingStone.com about the tour, his contribution to writing “Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite” and never retiring. :->
You’ve added a few new Beatles songs to the set – “Lovely Rita ,” “Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite!” and “All Together Now .” What’s it like playing those live for the first time ever?
That’s challenging. I mean, something like “Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite!” is hard to do. Ask a bass player who sings. It’s contrapuntal, man! It really is. I’ve got to sing a melody that’s going to one place, and then I’ve got to play this bassline that’s going to other places. It’s a concentration thing. But that’s half the fun of the show. I’m still practicing, still trying to figure it out, particularly on the new numbers. It’s like, “How does this one go again?”
