* Paul added D.C. and Quebec to his tour.
* James will be following in his father’s footsteps in playing Coachella (interview at link).
* Good Ol Freda has been added to the San Francisco and Dallas International Film Festival lineups.
* Breakfast with the Beatles’ Chris Carter is starting up a new Sirius show this Sunday, “Chris Carter’s British Invasion.” Wish I could hear it!
* And today in music history:
On April 4, 1964, with Beatlemania hitting the U.S. like a tidal wave, the Fab Four held the top five spots on Billboard magazine’s top singles chart. No one else has ever done that, or anything like that, before or since.
The No. 1 song in the nation that week was “Can’t Buy Me Love,” and No. 2 was “Twist and Shout.” At Nos. 3 and 4 were “She Loves You” and “I Want to Hold Your Hand,” both of which had been No. 1, and No. 5 was “Please Please Me.”
The Beatles had seven other songs in the Top 100, and two performers had cashed in by rush-recording songs about the Beatles – “We Love You, Beatles” by The Carefrees at No. 42, and “A Letter to the Beatles” by the Four Preps at No. 85.
Boggles the mind.

Quebec?? Ok, right country, not close enough though. You’re killing me, Paul! Why doesn’t he just post the whole tour at once?
"Please don't bring your banjo back, I know where it's been.. I wasn't hardly gone a day, when it became the scene.. Banjos! Banjos! All the time, I can't forget that tune.. and if I ever see another banjo, I'm going out and buy a big balloon!"

He seems to enjoy making us suffer.
Another reason he might not be able to post all of the dates at once is because the website would shut down due to the amount of people on there trying to get pre-sale tickets.

More dates added:

I told my mom that I’ll be wanting to go and see Paul and she said I have to choose one to see, Paul or Roger W. Hard decision but I know I’ll regret not going when I hear other people talking about having seen Paul in concert this year so I’m going to see him. Really, there should be no question at all, it is Paul McCartney . I don’t like making tough decisions
EDIT: Just realised that Parlance already posted about Washington being added.

Pre-sale goes up tomorrow.
I don’t know if I’ll be able to see him this summer, I was really hoping for a Milwaukee date, but I don’t think that’s going to be a happening, so I would be getting tickets for Memphis, but my mom works tomorrow, and the day they go on regular sale, and there really isn’t anybody else who could get them.

Today’s quite a day for Beatles anniversaries. Stu died, Paul ”announces” the split in the papers and Derek Taylor issues their final press release saying this, which I love (although it’s sad):
”Spring is here and Leeds play Chelsea tomorrow and Ringo and John and George and Paul are alive and well and full of hope.
The world is still spinning and so are we and so are you.
When the spinning stops – that’ll be the time to worry. Not before.
Until then, The Beatles are alive and well and the Beat goes on, the Beat goes on.”

Article on Mark Ronson includes this bit about Paul’s next album:
“With Paul, you learn to not ask too many questions and just do your best work,” Ronson says. “He came in one day playing some post-Bonde do Role baile funk-moombahton thing, asking, ‘How do we get this kind of energy?’ And then he played me ‘Climax’ by Usher, and he was like, ‘I love where all the sonics sit in this.'”

That made me feel a bit sad, but I love it too.
I was surprised that my mom knew the answer when I asked her what happened on that day 43 years ago.
