I was just about to post the story about the statue. Here’s the picture included with the story I read.

Here’s a story about someone finding and restoring the plane which flew the Beatles to Paris in 1964. Whilst renovating he found John’s boarding pass and a pic of The Beatles boarding the plane (allegedly). Doesn’t the picture look a bit later than ’64?

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/ne…..Dizmex_5rk

An aeroplane enthusiast has spent £80,000 restoring the cockpit of an old jet which he discovered once flew the Beatles after finding John Lennon ‘s boarding pass hidden in a wall.

Nils Alegen, 37, bought the cockpit of a 1960 Sud Aviation Caravelle in August 2012 after finding it abandoned on an airfield.

I don’t think George’s hair was ever that length in 1964

It was almost that long in late ’64, Beatles For Sale era, but the cut and style of their hair and clothes generally give me strong 1965 vibes. But it could have been very late ’64.

At first i thought this was a joke but it’s not:

https://www.mirror.co.uk/3am/c…..r-18961405

Paul McCartney was recently seen making guitar picks by throwing pennies on a railroad track to have a train crush them. Sure, he’s not doing anything wrong but it’s weird seeing him do this illegally when he could afford to crush custom made copper/zinc tokens with a steamroller.

Wonder why the threat of a fine didn’t put Paul off?

Google Street View will have to go through there again so we all can see the mural, at least virtually.

Ron Nasty said on 11 April
The Glastonbury Festival returns this year after a fallow year, however it is the 2020 Glastonbury Festival, the 50th Anniversary, that is attracting attention.

Emily Eavis, who largely runs the festival now, recently revealed that two of the biggest names had already been booked to headline. Her father, Michael Eavis, seemed to let slip in an interview with BBC Somerset that one of them may be Paul.

In the interview, ME commented that, “Paul’s on good form at the moment.”

Asked, “Coming here?” ME replied, “Hopefully for the 50th,” before quickly adding, “Don’t make a big thing of it though, will you?”

So, did ME confirm Paul’s returning to Glastonbury for a second time?

I was there when he headlined in 2004, one of the great Paul live experiences, so “Hopefully” indeed!

Seems Glastonbury is looking like a definite maybe for Paul next year.

Talking to the BBC, he has said:

People are saying that it would be good if I did it, so I’m starting to think about whether I can or whether it would be a good thing.

My kids are saying “Dad we’ve got to talk about Glastonbury,” and I think I know what they mean.

It’s starting to become some remote kind of possibility. It’s definitely not fixed yet but people are starting to talk about it.

@Ron Nasty

September 20th you were saying, right?  – the 50th anniversary of Lennon walking out on the Beatles

Sad anniversary – The Dream Is Over, The End of the End – and the start of a half century of retrospection.

Yep, @Into the Sky with Diamonds, 50 years ago today (here in London we’re on the 20th) John informed Paul and Ringo (George was visiting his mother), after signing the new Capitol contract Klein had been negotiating, that he was leaving the group.

Here’s Joe’s article on the day.

Alongside the Abbey Road zebra crossing there is a manhole cover:

IEng102.jpgImage Enlarger

(It can be seen above the hoto.co).

Looks like hundreds of thousands other manhole covers around London.

Until yesterday when it was replaced by Wrekin Products and Thames Water:

Simon Turner, commercial director of Wrekin Products said:

We’ve been aware that one of our manhole covers is situated next to that zebra crossing for a while now, so we knew we had to do something distinctive to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Abbey Road album.

It would be risky, @Ahhh Girl, given you’d definitely be caught on Abbey Road cam and could never be sure you didn’t have loads of people watching you live.

Also it’s a very busy road, don’t know how long it would take to unscrew a manhole cover but you’d definitely have a good few drivers catch you.

Although, if you were wearing a fluorescent jacket, they’d think you were a workman.
