An official Let it Be release could be on the way with new footage showing the band having a good time.

50th Anniversary of the film is the only real hope so May 2020. Don’t go holding your breath tho as a potential future release is occasionally spoken of only for it to fail to materialise.

Paul’s comments seem to indicate that people are reviewing footage in an effort to make the release positive and feel-good enough for Olivia and Yoko.

Website Beatlefan has the first substantive leak on the White, which it seems will be released on 9 November.

4LP version including 2018 remix and Esher demos;

3CD version including same as above (2CDs for the remix, 1 for Esher);

6CD + Audio Blu-Ray super deluxe, same as above plus 3CDs of studio outtakes.

The outtakes include “Hey Jude ,” “Revolution ,” “Inner Light,” “Across The Universe ,” “Lady Madonna ,” and nonalbum tracks/jams/improvisations. Of the latter, Beatlefan has been told that at least a couple are previously unknown. There also are some rehearsals.

It will also include the the full 12-minute version of the Anthology version of Helter Skelter  (but not the 27-minute version).

The Daily Beatle also comments on the news, adding Giles Martin talking to a Brazilian journalist.

[X-posted to WA 50th thread, please discuss there]

Now I'm a confused bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin everyone who is definitely not @Joe.  This has been true for 2016 & 2017 Sig-Badge.png but I may have to get more specific in the future.

The album can be pre-ordered now. At least in the United States I know it is. Check out my post in the 50th anniversary thread.

Just when you thought all your Christmas pennies had been used up news from a long thought extinct series reappears. Reportedly coming at Christmas, it’s ‘Wild Life’ and ‘Red Rose Speedway‘ in the ‘McCartney Archive’. Yes, it’s back. The never-ending series that six-months after everyone has given up giving a crap yawns back into life leaving all with a shrug of excitement. A series that when compared to other Beatles-related reissues looks so meagre in its contents it makes Scrooge seem generous with his 0.000001% discount on a bag of coal.

You thought four cd’s, a book and a DVD with plenty of outtakes was the standard of excitement, well, get ready for 16 outtakes over two discs, a couple of live tracks from a concert spread out over 8 other CD’s, a luxury book that you’ll look at twice then leave forever on a shelf, some replica pieces of paper that you never cared about, unseen photos that if they stayed that way no one would lose out and a couple of pieces of crappy plastic shaped into a guitar pick/paperclip/roadside side or whatever else can be chucked in to bulk up the price.

Grandude makes me think of a woman who is abused by sick kids who say she looks like a man. Could call her Sweet Loretta Martin and use ‘Get Back ‘ as the tune.

The lads have got a commemorative plaque in Dublin celebrating the only 2 concerts they played in the Republic. It’s on Middle Abbey Street where the Adelphi Cinema (the cinema they played in) used to stand. I know the Adelphi is now a car park so I imagine the plaque is on a neighbouring building to the car park.

One of Ireland’s broadcasting legends Gay Byrne was there (who is the interviewer in their interview with Ken Dodd).

 He was talking about his time working for Granada in Manchester, and how his boss told him to go to Liverpool to film some group called The Beatles:

“Our boss said, ‘Get thee to Liverpool and bring me back the story of these mopheads called The Beatles who are appearing in a place called The Cavern and they are causing riots and civil commotion left, right and centre’.

“We went to The Cavern, this dirty, filthy little place, a dump but much used by bands and songwriters and The Beatles were there and they brought massive crowds.

“We asked them to come on the show and play live. During rehearsals, Paul McCartney said to me, ‘We would love if you would be our agent’. I would have been very well known to them at the time but I had never heard of them.

“I knew nothing of being an agent so therefore I could not be an agent.”

Thanks to Joe’s wonderful history tracker, Granada visited the Cavern Club on the 22nd of August 1962, where they filmed Some Other Guy. The interview that Gay is talking about took place the 25th of November 1963 (well over a year later), when The Beatles most definitely had an agent, and I am sure they were pretty happy with Brian seeing how he’d made them rich and famous..so I think we can debunk your story, Gay, sorry.

Ringo announced several upcoming plans and events on his site yesterday:

Monday November 12, 2018 – Today Sir Ringo Starr announced tour plans for 2019 with his All Starr Band, featuring Steve Lukather, Colin Hay, Gregg Rolie, Warren Ham, Gregg Bissonette and the return of All Starr alum Hamish Stuart.

The first leg begins in March with one US show at Harrah’s Resort Southern California on March 21st before the band head to Japan, starting in Fukuoka on March 27th and ending April 11th in Osaka (full dates listed below). August 2019 marks the 30th Anniversary of Ringo and His All Starr Band and they will hit the road for a celebratory tour which will kick off at Harrah’s in Windsor on August 1st and then head to Ravinia near Chicago, Illinois to play two shows with the Beach Boys August 3rd and 4th and two shows at Nashville’s historic Ryman in Tennessee on August 7th and 8th. The tour will conclude September 1st at the Greek Theater in Los Angeles, California, nearly 30 years to the day when the inaugural All Starrs completed their first tour on September 3, 1989. (A full itinerary will be announced soon).

This month Another Day In The Life, Ringo’s third book with Genesis Publications, will be released in Limited Edition, while the hard cover will available in wide release in April 2019. Pre-orders for the limited edition can be made at http://www.ringobook.com. Following in the series that began with the sell-out success of Postcards From The Boys (2003) and Photograph (2013), this book will include previously unpublished photographs, captioned with Ringo’s observations and anecdotes. Reflecting his love of music, travel and nature, Another Day In The Life shows us the world as seen through Ringo’s eyes. From Los Angeles to Tokyo and everywhere in between, many of Ringo’s observational images celebrate the quirkiness of life.

November will also see Ringo honored when he receives the Humanitarian Award from the George Harrison Fund for UNICEF on “Giving Tuesday,” November 27, 2019 at their annual Snowflake Ball in New York City.

More details can be found here.

Apparently Ringo has been taken to hospital for chest pains: http://theweeklyobserver.com/r…..HuDgYUOih8

Apparently it’s private currently (as in, limited to the family), but I’d question the authenticity of this article…

Regardless, if he is in hospital, I hope he recovers quickly.
