I saw the 1999 re-release in the cinema. If I can get a ticket, I’ll be seeing this.
The thought comes to mind of why ‘Help !” didn’t get screened in the cinema when it was released on DVD – it was on the BBC; A Hard Day’s Night has been and ‘Yellow Submarine ‘ at least twice with the upcoming viewing.
I’m totally convinced ‘Let It Be ‘ will be in the cinema when Apple release the 50-disc (DVD, Blu-Ray and CD) set in 2020 at a sensible price.

The Beatles have claimed another place in the Guinness Book of (World) Records.
Sgt. Pepper has replaced The Rolling Stones’ Exile on Main Street for the longest gap between stints at #1 in the UK – 49 years + opposed to Exile‘s roughly 38 years (rounding up). The precise figures are in the article.
Pepper is the best-selling studio album in the UK, beaten only by Queen’s Greatest Hits and Abba’s Gold compilations.
And I love this, posted by actor Samuel West, and from the filming of new Churchill film, Darkest Hour, he says he’s been waiting to post this for a year. The House of Commons set, 450 extras have a singalong to Hey Jude :

Oops! A correction. Stella’s fashion show was at the S.I.R. Studios in Hollywood. The source I saw that said London was wrong.

If I put this in the News thread, maybe it will help it come true.Feeding Colorado petitions for license plate
Food bank association Feeding Colorado hopes to bring new meaning to “one plate at a time” with a new vanity license plate.
Featuring John Lennon ’s self-portrait and the word “Imagine ,” the license plate’s sales would bring local agriculture to Feeding Colorado’s five food banks, including Weld Food Bank, according to a news release.
Officials at the association have applied to the Colorado Department of Revenue, but they need the help of Colorado drivers. For the bill to proceed in the Colorado Senate, it requires 3,000 signatures from registered Colorado vehicle owners. Sen. John Cooke, R-Greeley, is sponsoring the bill.
Weld Food Bank Executive Director Bob O’Connor said the signatures would help fill more than license plates.
“The impact the ‘Imagine ’ license plate will have on our mission to fight hunger in Weld County will be significant. It is vital that we get these signatures,” he said in a news release.
Yoko Ono Lennon granted the use of John Lennon ’s self-portrait for the plate. The artist and activist was glad she could help.
“Imagine is a great word to spread around, and I was happy to do this because it is helping a very important charity,” she said in the release.
The petition can be signed online at http://www.coloradoimagine.com or at the Weld Food Bank’s warehouse, 1108 H Street.
I don’t think Colorado ever got this plate, but California is getting one. @sigh butterfly
The Department of Motor Vehicles will begin the process of creating the program to issue the ‘Imagine No Hunger’ license plates upon receipt of 7,500 pre-paid applications.

Quincy spoke badly of almost everyone he mentioned in the entire interview (the full interview is here).
For anyone interested here is the entire quote regarding the Beatles
What were your first impressions of the Beatles?
That they were the worst musicians in the world. They were no-playing m***********s. Paul was the worst bass player I ever heard. And Ringo? Don’t even talk bout it. I remember once we were in the studio with George Martin, and Ringo had taken three hours for a four-bar thing he was trying to fix on a song. He couldn’t get it. We said, “Mate, why don’t you get some lager and lime, some shepherd’s pie, and take an hour-and-a-half and relax a little bit.” So he did, and we called Ronnie Verrell, a jazz drummer. Ronnie came in for 15 minutes and tore it up. Ringo comes back and says, “George, can you play it back for me one more time?” So George did, and Ringo says, “That didn’t sound so bad.” And I said, “Yeah, m**********r because it ain’t you.” Great guy, though.

He seems to hate everything. He was in the Irish press last week because he said “Ireland and Scotland are so racist, it’s frightening“. He also boasted about having 22 girlfriends.
Well that’s nice Quincy….good to see you’re still alive.
