Just curious, has Ringo’s head grown back since that incident?
Depends on what you think about his Brexit views
I’m pretty sure I saw an article quite a while ago where he said basically the same thing, so the Newsnight interview didn’t surprise me.

Yoko has stopped a Polish company selling John Lemon lemonade claiming it intrudes on the John Lennon trademark.
Joris Van Manen, of Dutch law firm Hoyng Rokh Monegier, which acted for Ono Lennon, told the East London Advertiser: “They were abusing and misusing the legacy of John Lennon to sell their soda.”
It’s ok for Yoko to license John’s name to sell ice-cream tho.
When Ben & Jerry’s wanted to talk about peace, we couldn’t think of a better person to exemplify the message than John Lennon . Through his art and lyrics he imagined a world without war and asked us all to ‘Give Peace A Chance ’. We hope this whirly mixture of toffee cookies and fudge peace signs enlightens your bellies and souls and makes you ask what you can do to promote peace in your lives.

Paul McCartney is playing drums on one of the tracks on the Foo Fighter’s next album.
I’ve read an article in the Herald Sun recently, which addresses this topic superficially. Also, it mentions how Dave Grohl called Paul for help when he had an accident and Paul arranged his whole surgery. Dave even said:
“But I also would not be walking right now if it was not for Paul McCartney . He knows some good f—ing doctors.”
I don’t know whether this isn’t a little exaggerated but I still found it fascinating.

AHA! Herald Sun reader! (this is probably only funny to Australians). I like that they found a use for the Grohl Of Thrones after he no longer needed it, that’s great. It will probably fetch a good price at auction some time

For filthy auslanders, the Herald Sun is roughly as trustworthy as the UK Daily Mirror and supermarket tabloids in the US. It’s a Victorian Murdoch rag.

In Germany that role is being played by the “Bild Zeitung”, and for young people by facebook. I’m a bit worried though that fb is even worse as a news source than traditional media. So many lies are spread and so many people are gullible.

Wogblog report that the Christmas messages are finally getting officially released this Christmas!!
In a limited release of seven singles on coloured vinyl with a booklet.
Hopefully, this is like the early announcement of the ‘Pepper’ release which was initially reported to be the album rejigged to include ‘SFF’/’PL’ but turned out to be the 50th anniversary box.
Details, as written by Wogblog
The Christmas Records [limited edition box set: seven 7” colored vinyl singles]
1963: “The Beatles’ Christmas Record”
(one-sided, 5:00 TRT)
Recorded: 17 October 1963 – Studio Two, EMI Studios, Abbey Road , London1964: “Another Beatles Christmas Record”
(one-sided, 3:58 TRT)
Recorded: 26 October 1964 – Studio Two, EMI Studios, Abbey Road , London1965: “The Beatles’ Third Christmas Record”
(one-sided, 6:20 TRT)
Recorded: 8 November 1965 – Studio Two, EMI Studios, Abbey Road , London1966: “Pantomime – Everywhere It’s Christmas: The Beatles’ Fourth Christmas Record”
(one-sided, 6:36 TRT)
Recorded: 25 November 1966 – Dick James Music, New Oxford Street, London1967: “Christmas Time (Is Here Again): The Beatles’ Fifth Christmas Record”
(one-sided, 6:06 TRT)
Recorded: 28 November 1967 – Studio Three, EMI Studios, Abbey Road , London1968: “The Beatles’ Sixth Christmas Record”
(two-sided, 7:48 TRT)
Recorded: 1968, various locations1969: “The Beatles’ Seventh Christmas Record”
(two-sided, 7:39 TRT)
Recorded: 1969, various locations
There will also be a new ‘Pepper’ picture disc.
If the Christmas release is better than an expensive box of one-sided brightly coloured singles then we could be seeing a new pattern with Beatles releases.
In the past, news of a release would be exciting and then by the aanalysisyou’d be sitting there wondering what all the hype was for.
Now, the initial news could be met with questions of “What!?” before Apple reveal they might just have been to Oz and got the brain, heart, courage and a way back home.

Bits and pieces found online with the Christmas release.
The release date is the 15th December according to Amazon UK, and there has the cost currently at £66.21.
A video promo is on reddit – Christmas Box Promo.
And discussion on the Steve Hoffman forum suggests there is no download or CD versions available and I presume, therefore, no streaming.

The Christmas Records are a nice microcosm of their career together… The 1st one capturing that youthful exuberance of the boys that was quickly lost by the time ‘Beatles For Sale ‘ was released a year later due to the monumental fame they’d achieved only a few months later… You could practically smell the marijuana on the second one (I believe that John didn’t cough by accident as he’s being introduced here)… The third one effectively demonstrates just how exhausted they’d become from the endless touring that would soon come to an end… The Pantomime is the best of the bunch here and a harbinger of the glorious sounds that would shape Sgt. Pepper , or what George Martin later referred to as “sound pictures”… Christmas Time Is Here Again , as catchy a tune as it is, has the same overindulgence qualities that muddied the whole ‘Magical Mystery Tour ‘ project… The last two display how it was getting increasingly difficult to get the four of them to work together on anything anymore, many of the bits pasted together after they’d worked apart from one other… Tiny Tim’s version of ‘Nowhere Man ‘ is another highlight… excellent…
Don’t think I’ve seen meanmistermustard so excited by an Apple release before! Happy Xmas, War Is Over…:-)

A long long time ago, in a world where the skies were blue, cars were scarce and gentlemen took their hats off to greet women, I was excited by Apple releases. But then came the dark clouds, revelry, insolence and lack of hats. Box sets transformed into luxury expensive pointless pens, film projects turned into mush, tea cosies were sold as must-have gifts and happy anniversaries passed without so much as a snort.
Sometimes, when the winds are still, echoes of the better, happier times return, stirring up long-forgotten remembrances of wonder and awe. Yet, like the beat being kept by Pete Best, almost immediately they are lost and the emptiness returns.
Every Now And Then very small numbers of people get together to ensure the memories of long ago never fully dissipate but they are careful who the whispers reach in fear of sparking a hope which it appears is only going to go unfulfilled.

Too bad there’s not a CD. They could probably all fit on one disc and cost $12.99. They’re milking the vinyl fetishists for every penny they can get. Apple as usual.

For anyone who isn’t familiar with Apple and thinking they want to buy it but it’s costly and near Christmas, please note the following important information.
When Apple say limited they mean limited to whoever wants a copy at any point. All they do is charge you a lot more money whilst making it harder to find it in shops.
If they say “limited to 10,000” and the 10,000 sell they go and print more.

I’m glad to see that the Christmas records are finally getting a new release but I’m not that thrilled about a vinyl box set. The vinyl box set is neat and all but I would like them to also release it as a CD compilation or as a download form the people that don’t want the vinyl box set. I’m sure a lot of people feel the same way.

My friend of 3+ decades (a fellow Beatles fan) mentioned this upcoming release just last night and I had the same complaints – why no CD edition or downloadable version? And a facetious suggestion that if Apple is going for authenticity, why not go all the way and release ’em on flexi vinyl instead of the good stuff? (Coincidentally, this is the same friend who burned me a CDR bootleg of the 1970 Xmas album-plus-extras years ago.) In the end, we both cursed Apple while agreeing that those seven little picture sleeves make for a nice little item)
