Holy sh*t! 150.000?! Wow…Imagine having it though. That’s what I call a serious collector’s item!
And that mini documentary was nice. Nothing new obviously. I wonder if they’ll do that for all albums. I hope so.

Two photo pieces that appeared yesterday to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of Please Please Me .
The first is from TIME Entertainment and includes 10 photos taken by Philip Jones Griffiths in 1963/64 (they claim all are 1963 but place one in Paris, which must be 1964 if it is Paris). Some very nice shots of the group.

The second is from Slate and includes 14 photos, again 1963/64. Taken from the files of AP, there are many familiar images, but also some lesser known shots.

Suprised those two girls managed to get Ringo’s pick in one of those photos considering he wasnt wearing any trousers – would have thought they would fainted, or fake fainted, to try and get a glimpse of what was underneath.
The silhouette pic of Ringo is very cool.
Thankis for the links mja.

Rare Shea Stadium ’65 pics have sold for £30,000 the bbc reports. The photographer duped his way in with a fake pass, the only other photographer there ran out of film (if you’re there to take photos of the beatles you ensure you bring too much film).
At the bottom of the same report the bbc note that
A further collection of 65 unpublished colour slides of The Beatles taken by physicist Dr Robert “Bob” Beck in 1964 sold for £27,140. They had an estimate of £10,000-£15,000.

I thought that would have sold already, I believe it’s been on the market for quite some time, thought that people would’ve been straight in there.

Yoko Ono sued over fashion range.
Yoko Ono has been sued by a New York designer, who alleges that the 80-year-old
artist copied her work for a new fashion range supposedly inspired by John
Lennon.
However, like several garments designed by Ms Nematzadeh, a 36-year-old
Iranian-American, Ms Ono’s high-priced line
contains items featuring distinctive hand-prints on the chest and crotch areas.

I don’t know about you guys, but I think my boyfriend would look fab in Yoko’s designs
For the fashion-forward gentlemen out there
In other news an autograph by all members of The Beatles sold for €2900 in an auction in Dublin on Saturday, it was signed on the back of an Aer Lingus menu, along with Elvis’s first record That’s Alright Mama which sold for €65000.

Oh dear. What’s Yoko gone and done now? Every week she seems to do something that makes me have less and less enthusiasm to defend her (my parents are a bit anti-Yoko). I hope this isn’t true though, and that she really did come up with them.
As for the actual designs, I think they’re absolutely hideous, and not what I would expect (or want) somebody of Yoko’s age to come up with. Then again, maybe she didn’t…

To be honest, I never understood where the inspiration for these clothes came from. I know she said that John was the inspiration but I really can’t see how.

Can’t you invision John wearing pink mesh top and white pants with black handprints on the crotch area? Anyways I’m worried about the people who would buy them monstrosities, I can imagine people buying it because it has Yoko’s name attached to it and not actually wearing the clothes….well I hope nobody is wearing them “things”.

Umm….no, I can’t for some reason
And yeah, as if modern society in the Western world isn’t sex-driven enough as it is. The last thing I want is someone wearing that to sit down next to me on the bus. Maybe it’s just me though, I don’t know, do other people like wearing this kind of thing…?

I would think it’s just clubwear… but it’s not even creative clubwear considering we saw this decades ago when Barbra Streisand rocked it in The Owl and the Pussycat.

It could have maybe been funny, but it bothers me when people write this s**t without knowing simple facts… he’s a vegetarian, not a vegan. Big difference.
