Seems all is not peace and love among Sir George Martin’s children as squabbles over his will go public.

Nasty stuff. He made the 2nd kids directors?! Unfortunately the very simplicity of the will might shut the legal door on redress.

I'm like Necko only I'm a bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin and also everyone. Or is everyone me? Now I'm a confused bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin everyone who is definitely not @Joe.  This has been true for 2016 & 2017 Sig-Badge.png but I may have to get more specific in the future.

Newsworthy? IDK, but here goes

Paul, Ringo, and Ron Howard will hold a Facebook Q&A tomorrow (September 14th). You can submit questions on The Beatles’ Facebook page.

A company which appears to be representing the estate of concert promoter Sid Bernstein are suing Apple over the rights for the Shea Stadium concert footage, claiming Bernstein instigated the filming and owned the copyright, which has been being illegally used by The Beatles (and later Apple) since 1966.

The complaint said [Bernstein] helped stage the group’s Aug. 15, 1965, performance at Shea, and arranged for TV variety show host Ed Sullivan’s production company to film it.

But the plaintiff, which said it was assigned Bernstein’s rights, said the group’s manager, Brian Epstein, took custody of the “Master Tapes” and began using them without seeking consent.

It said the recording was later used in the 1966 movie The Beatles at Shea Stadium, the 1995 documentary The Beatles Anthology, and the 2010 documentary The Last Play at Shea about Billy Joel’s concerts there two years earlier.

I think it would be far more fun to submit the answers.

I find it amusing considering if you so much as mouth a Beatles song in public without getting permission from Apple you risk a lawyer coming up and issuing you with a lawsuit.

A few days late with this, but it slipped my mind. Running from a few days ago until 26 February 2017, the V&A Museum in London has an exhibition called You Say You Want a Revolution ? Records and Rebels 1966-1970.

Among the exhibits are:
CsAk_zJWIAA2q_K.jpgImage Enlarger

John and George’s Pepper suits…

and…
CsAkjuTUIAAhu_3.jpgImage Enlarger

John’s jacket from the All You Need Is Love  broadcast…

and the mosaic from John’s swimming pool that was discussed in another thread a couple of days ago.

So, if you’re into that kind of thing, and are in London between now and the end of February, you might want to plan a trip to the V&A.

“Sony CSL Research Laboratory is releasing an album next year of songs written by Artificial intelligence, and the first hit track may be this uncanny number programmed in the style of The Beatles…

The effort was not totally computer generated, of course. French composer Benoît Carré arranged and produced the harmonies for the songs. He also wrote the lyrics. Using Sony’s Flowmachines system, the team selected a Beatles style and, well, here it is:”

I had a listen to this and although I think it’s quite clever I don’t think I’d want to listen to too much more of it.

It sounds like they took a bunch of random Beatle/Solo lyrics and mushed them together.

Ringo Starr debuts new song for UN’s International Day of Peace

BY ALLISON SADLIER

Ringo Starr released a new song, “Now The Time Has Come,” in partnership with the United Nations in honor of International Day of Peace on Wednesday.

“I worked on this record with Peace & Love,” said Starr in a statement. “It was a joy to be part of this project.”

The former Beatle co-wrote the song with producer Bruce Sugar. Richard Page, Colin Hay, and Billy Valentine all lent their vocal talents to track, and social media sensations Christian Collins, Maddi Jane, Casey McPherson, James Maslow, and Wesley Stromberg are featured as back-up singers.

The song is meant to encourage the social media #HugForPeace campaign to promote a day of non-violence through the peaceful act of hugging.

More information and the video are on Ringo’s Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/ringo…..317212677/
