Article with video about ten-year-old girl “upstaging” Macca at Buenos Aires concert. Looks like it was “staged” to me.  Macca is not that good of an actor.

For some reason, I feel like parlance.

I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did'.

A company in Indonesia started selling media and music equipment with the brand name “Ringgo Star”. Ringo has sued them.

Apparently Sony is going to give away the rights to lyrics to Beatles songs so people can make products out of them.

I wonder if they’ll give me the rights to my musical now?

Paul’s demo for ‘It’s For You’ is being auctioned on 27th August 2016 at the Liverpool Beatle Memorabilia Auction. 20 seconds of the demo can be heard at the link and is on YouTube.

Hopefully one day we will hear it complete.

Did anyone else hear ‘I’ll Follow The Sun ‘ in the opening lyrics? I know that ‘IFTS’ had been kicking around for years before they recorded it and found the similarity to be very clear.

I would be offended too if somebody used my music without asking.  Especially if it was Trump.  Good on the Harrison estate for speaking out against it.

P.S. Re: that photo of Paul a-hard-days-night-ringo-8 Whilst I love that picture, I do wonder why it was airbrushed. There’s absolutely no reason to do that. We love Paul, and some wrinkles and jowls aren’t going to make us like him any less, right? They really should stop trying to make him look younger…

Its far easier to play the song(s) and see what happens by the artists and record labels affected than to seek permission, risking the answer “get stuffed a-hard-days-night-paul-11“.

From The Hollywood Reporter: The ‘Entourage’ star will appear in Jeremy Profe’s ‘The Lennon Report,’ an account of the attempts to save the rock star’s life

parlance

This movie is finally going to be shown at 3 film festivals.

http://www.examiner.com/articl…..al-circuit

“The Lennon Report,” a film about the events on the night John Lennon was killed, will be featured in three U.S. film festivals that begin in April, a film spokesman told Beatles Examiner. The movie will be featured in two showings at the upcoming Beverly Hills Film Festival on April 6 and April 9. It will then move to the East Coast for the Boston International Film Festival, then go back to the West Coast the following week for the Newport Beach Film Festival in California.

The film, directed by Jeremy Profe and starring Richard Kind, Evan Jonigkeit, Stef Dawson, David Zays and Devin Ratray, looks at the situation faced by medical personnel who had to attend to the mortally wounded John Lennon the night he was shot, including the fact some didn’t know it was Lennon who was their patient. It also looks at how the hospital had tried to keep the story quiet.

The spokesman said that when the film’s director and producers were doing research for the movie, they discovered what they said were serious inconsistencies in the reporting of the story, including who the actual doctor was that performed surgery on Lennon. They say two different doctors had claimed to have performed surgery on him, though they say neither did. The research resulted in major changes to the script and they say the film includes the conflicting stories of doctors and nurses on duty that night. Some of those medical personnel have been doing interviews for the film and were featured in a report by Fox News media reporter Howard Kurtz that also included a response by Yoko Ono.

The Beverly Hills Film Festival screenings will be at 5:45 p.m. April 6 and 9 p.m. April 9 at TCL Chinese 6 Theatres at 6925 Hollywood Blvd., Los Angeles. The Boston showing will be at 3 p.m. April 16 in the Bright Family Room of the Paramount Center at 559 Washington Street. The Newport Festival runs from April 21 to April 28.

Wish I were near one of those places.

The video is now coming out in theaters in some cities. http://variety.com/2016/film/n…..201820510/

Emerging Pictures has set an October 7 launch for “The Lennon Report,” which re-creates the aftermath of the 1980 murder of John Lennon .

The film will open in 10 markets — New York City, Los Angeles, Chicago, Dallas, Seattle, Tampa, San Francisco, Denver, Atlanta and Cleveland — and then expand into nationwide distribution on October 14.

The film, produced by Gabriel and Rafael Francisco, is directed by Jeremy Profe from a script he co-wrote with Walter Vincent. “The Lennon Report” focuses on the efforts of police officers, nurses and emergency doctors racing to save Lennon’s life at New York’s Roosevelt Hospital.

Spotlight Pictures is handling foreign sales.

Wonder if it will be out in Liverpool while I am there?

The Shea Stadium concert has been restored with remastered sound and will be shown in its entirety at showings of the new Ron Howard documentary. Also, if you have attended a Beatles concert, you can see the documentary for free.
