Paul’s recorded a video birthday message for the Great Ormond Street Hospital.
In a video message he has updated his 1967 hit “When I’m Sixty-Four” in honour of Great Ormond Street Hospital.
He said: “This is Paul McCartney here and this is a message on behalf of the Great Ormond Street Hospital. I want to thank everybody who has donated to their latest campaign and has given money to keep this great hospital and the great work it does going.”

A BBC news article reports that
The legacy of The Beatles adds nearly £82m to the Liverpool economy each year, new research has suggested.
The band’s impact also supports 2,335 jobs in the city, claims the report commissioned by Liverpool City Council…
…The report said the Beatles-related economy was growing by up to 15% a year and that the band’s songs were becoming increasingly popular in Brazil and China alongside the more established fan bases in Europe and the US.
The research, produced by Liverpool John Moores University and the University of Liverpool, is the first study of the contemporary value of the quartet that achieved worldwide fame in the 1960s.
It also recommended the launch of a “Beatles Legacy” group to develop the sector.
Anyone else remember how in the 1970’s some Liverpool Councillors wanted to distance themselves from the band?
£82m a year is just a ridiculous amount for a group to bring to their home city/town.
And their music is gaining popularity 47 years after they split!!

Not the greatest Beatles news: Apparently members of ISIS took on the nicknames John, Paul, and Ringo because of their British accents. I guess George is the one left out this time….
Don’t even know why they are associated with the Beatles, wish the media would stop doing it.
Also there is a new animated show coming out on Netflix called Beat Bugs, it is going to have 5 bugs performing Beatle songs with a story to go alongside it.

Skype’s new emoji were created by Paul McCartney
Some people want to fill the world with silly emoji
Exactly 52 years after The Beatles made their historical debut on The Ed Sullivan Show, Sir Paul McCartney is bringing his musical talents to the world of emoji.
Microsoft-owned Skype has enlisted the help of McCartney to create a new group of 10 moving emoticons, which Skype calls Mojis, for the mobile and desktop versions of its app. The new “Love” Mojis include characters such as Sumo Cupid, Excited Octopus, and Flirting Banana.
These animated characters wiggle and gyrate to short chords of non-lyrical music or the occasional “doo dee doo deeeeee” from Sir Paul himself. They are timed to Valentine’s Day, because who wouldn’t want to receive a flirtatious banana emoji that peels off its own fibrous skin on Valentine’s Day, am I right?
Skype even gave a small group of journalists, myself included, a look at a behind-the-scenes video in which Sir Paul taps on keyboard keys, strums his guitar, and murmurs sounds, all a part of the Moji creation process.
Apart from a label that states this group of Mojis was created by McCartney, they don’t include any distinguishing characteristics of McCartney (or The Beatles). Skype says it went through many iterations of these emoticons and decided that it wanted to create new expressive content that paired with McCartney’s original music, but did not want to overburden the message.
[snip]
The new Love Mojis become available on Skype today, and are free, because obviously you can’t buy me love. (Sorry.)
“I’m Gonna Do It To You, Gonna Do It,
Sweet Banana, You’ve Never Been Done.”
I’m still waiting, Paul.

Good writing. But the last sentence is not necessary!

Here is the last sentence for people who don’t wanna click the link.
If so, just think it could be worse – Skype could’ve decided to reach out to Ringo.

Someone hacked into Ringo’s Twitter account a few hours ago.
Report on the hack. Quite amusing.
BuzzFeedUK’s Jamie Ross noticed that Starr retweeted a 2015 tweet saying, “f— the beatles.”
A few minutes later, Ross screenshotted a tweet that started a firestorm.
“Being honest here, @Harry_Styles was a bit smelly,” Starr’s account tweeted.
Some One Direction fans were pretty unhappy. One wrote in shouty caps, “NOW THAT YALL HACKED RINGO STARR EVERYBDOY IS GONNA ACTUALLY THINK HARRY SMELLS BAD. I HOPE HE SUES YALL FOR SPREADING LIES.”
Another disagreed, tweeting, “If anything Harry’s hair probably did stink so maybe Ringo Starr isn’t hacked.”
