Agreed.  Ringo would probably smile and say something about how he does look younger.

Paul is playing at Lollapalooza this year.

Also, Heather Mills says she had to teach music to Beatrice because Paul can’t read music:

Heather Mills speaking in an interview.

I’d want 26 sources backing her claims before I even began to consider to believe her. I half expect her at some point to chip in that it was her in a previous life that inspired John and Paul to make music in the 1950’s.

^^ Actually, it is quite true that Paul cannot read music. The bit about Ms Mills being solely responsible for Beatrice’s musical education might be an exaggeration.

It looks like we will be able to watch Paul’s performance at Lollapalooza live this year streaming on the internet. http://www.redbull.com/us/en/m…..up-is-here

Yeah i know that. However if Ms Mills said the Beatles released an album called ‘Rubber Soul ‘ i’d be checking the books just to make doubly sure.

Well, she also said that she has nothing positive to say about Paul. So, why should we listen, right?

If anyone has £40 to blow (or whatever that converts to in your countries currency) and nothing better to spend it on you can purchase official limited edition high quality lithographs of certain Beatles singles sleeves. Already available are ‘The Long And Winding Road ‘ and ‘Paperback Writer ‘, and ‘A Hard Day’s Night ‘ is now available to pre-order.

I’m going to have to lie down before i pass out due to too much excitement.

BBC Radio 2 is to broadcast several programmes over the August Bank Holiday weekend commemorating the 50th anniversary of the meeting between The Beatles and Elvis on 27 August 1965. It’s centrepiece is a newly commissioned drama, When Elvis Met The Beatles, written by Liverpudlian Jeff Young:

I was a big Beatles fan when I was younger, but for this project, initially, I knew very little about the Elvis and Beatles meeting. Then as I began researching the story, the strangeness of the meeting and the psychological dimensions, the dramatic opportunities became obvious. The larger than life characters involved, including Brian Epstein and Colonel Tom Parker, all set against a backdrop of corrupt American politics and the disastrous war in Vietnam, made for a strange and compelling narrative.

The piece that has emerged is a kind of fake documentary. Elvis’s life was an American Tragedy and the seeds of it are sown here in this meeting between the King and the pretenders to the throne. The Beatles were so young, bewildered and overwhelmed by their rapid rise to fame. In writing this drama I went back my old Beatles records and I became a Beatles fan, all over again.

"I only said we were bigger than Rod... and now there's all this!" Ron Nasty

I think I read about that on the Elvis forum I’m on. It sounds like it might be really bad. What makes me say that is that the blurb says of Elvis’s tragedy that “the seeds of it are sown here in this meeting.” I don’t really think that’s true. I think Elvis’s decline had nothing to do with The Beatles and he could have cared less about meeting them.

Whenever you read bout the meeting between Elvis and The Beatles it’s either “It was horrible” or “They had a good time.” It’s always “Elvis hated The Beatles” or “Elvis liked The Beatles.” I think for whatever reason people have hidden agendas here, and I’m not sure if I trust the author of this play.

Ooooo, I know how @mstarr tells the story in his book. You all will find out when you read it.

I gave up listening and watching semi-true Beatles documentary’s years ago as a) they are generally s**t and b) i find it impossible to remain calm when a lump of steaming nonsense is thrown in for whatever stupid reason.

Yesterday was declared John Lennon Day by the mayor of New York in honor of the day John got his green card. The Edge, Yoko and Bono dedicated a tapestry depicting John piloting Manhattan as a yellow submarine.

Here is an article about the tapestry.

Does it matter that ‘Yellow Submarine ‘ was mainly a Paul song sung mainly by Ringo? a-hard-days-night-john-6

Gotta love tabloid newspapers. What purports to be an article on a ceremony honouring John Lennon ends up providing more coverage of Bono’s hair colour. a-hard-days-night-paul-3

You caught that too, eh? “Bono’s hair, Bono’s hair, Bono’s hair, Bono’s hair. Meanwhile, the John Lennon Amnesty International Tapestry was presented…”.

Yoko looks spry for a person her age. More power to her.
