YAY! Soon there will be enough Beatles stuff to make a Beatles House!

ha ha ha ha.

Not in the slightest , i can use it at night and use my official Beatles duster to keep it clean. I’ve been waiting ages for this news, my 20 years being a Beatles fan finally pays in off. Just a shame its coming up to the summer and there is no news of a £44 official Beatles mole catcher for my garden.

To each his/her own then. *shrugs

Well, I for one can’t wait. I need more Beatles stuff to balance out my Elvis stuff.

@Beatlebug, both of my replies were heavily sarcastic. I hate all the crap Apple shovels out whilst ignoring the music and film sitting in the vaults we havent heard before and how they manage to find new ways of ballsing up whatever little material they do put out.

Of course, they’re meant to tell others to stay on topic. They’re not on topic in themselves. a-hard-days-night-paul-11 back

Not at all, @meanmistermustard is the master when it comes to dishing it out to Apple and friends for their pathetic attempts at releasing material we have been waiting decades for.

BBC article on the ruins of the spiritual retreat in Rishikesh, India where the Beatles spent between 10 days and 6 weeks learning about Transcendental Meditation with the Maharishi Mahesh Yogi and how Beatles fans have turned the site into a pilgrimage destination.

“Then it was grass and gardens. There were monkeys and emerald green parakeets in the trees.”

Today the ashram is a ghostly relic of those days.

Mildewed and grotty stone and concrete buildings peep out of overgrown bushes and thick forests in a national park where some 1,700 elephants live, alongside tigers and leopards.

But the place remains a big draw with Beatles fans. A dilapidated meditation hall christened The Beatles Cathedral Gallery, by fans has become the beating heart of the ruins. Its walls are ablaze with colourful graffiti, many of them riffing on Beatles songs, “And life flows on with you and without you,” says one.

One section of the article writes about legends that have come from the Beatles stay there and i love the line about John staying in an “orb-shaped stone-floored hut”.

One has it that Lennon used to live in an orb-shaped stone-floored hut. In reality, the ashram was pretty comfortable, with “ultramodern apartments tastefully furnished with hot and cold water” according to one account – and the Maharishi’s residence was rumoured to have cost £35,000 ($55,000 at today’s exchange rate).

The Status Quo? Still around after all these years! 🙂

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..D4YYI8G5EM

“The” Status Quo?  They haven’t been “The” since about 1968!  🙂

They are still around, though, and still touring the UK and Europe every year: http://www.statusquo.co.uk/

Wow – they’ve made the most out of their one hit! (at least the only one I’m familiar with). I associate “Pictures of Matchstick Men” with the Wah-Wah pedal more so than any other song except for Hendrix and Clapton solos. (I still have the sheet music somewhere.)

I suggest that you might look up Status Quo on Wikipedia – they have had an extremely long and highly successful career, just not in the States.  They were the opening act in Live Aid, for a kick-off, with Rocking All Over The World.

Status Quo are embarrassingly dreadful. An entire career built on the smallest amount of talent, variation and quality. So fair play to them for lasting so long.

I’m not especially a fan myself, but that comment perhaps deserves an IMO.
