The latest Examiner article links to a Daily Mail story of Paul in L.A. The one item of note in amongst the nothing new of the Daily Mail story is “Paul, who is due to release yet more new music this year…”. Anyone read this anywhere else as its the Daily Mail and its not a source you’re meant to believe on its own?

Most of the football rumours are from unnamed sources so made up in the office or by agents looking to make it out that their players are better and more valuable. Thats why when one proves to be true they make it to be a major scoop. I read one recently of Glen Johnson going to Barcelona, more chance of Ringo getting a game.

From the Examiner article that MMM quoted:
New website: Dave Fergy of the great Liverpool Beat website told us today about their new subsite for Lathom Hall, where the Beatles played in 1960. The original stage is still there. Fergy also posted a note today that Gerry Marsden recently visited the Hall again.
Not sure where this should be x-posted.

There can’t really be Beatles news, as John and George sadly are dead. There can be Paul news, Ringo news, etc, but not Beatles news, really.
I finally finished Sgt. Pepper 2! Watch it here. (Sorry if this is annoying advertizing...)

New exhibitions, film releases, auctions, interviews, albums upcoming and a whole world of things. A quick read of the thread will show how much Beatles news comes up. Same as there can still be George news and John news. Just because they are no longer with us doesnt mean they dont make the news.

Rolling Stone Magazine cover story on Ringo. A really, really good read. And I don’t normally say things like that about Rolling Stone.

I’m doing two talks for Liverpool History Society on Sunday 10 May, at 11.30am and 2.30pm in the Drama Theatre (Room COR 001) at Liverpool Hope University Creative Campus. It’s on Shaw Street, opposite where the Collegiate was. The 11.30am talk is for non-members of the LHS, the later one primarily for members. The talk’s title is Tune In, and the general theme will be to put this most phenomenal history back on to the streets and inside the houses of everyone’s Liverpool. It’s NOT just a talk for Beatles fans, it’s for anyone who loves or is interested in Liverpool/Merseyside.

It’s now been confirmed that (the mighty) Status Quo will now be headlining this gig, and the original rumour of Paul, Elton John and Rod Stewart seems to have died off.
Nice bit of PR for Quo and about time they got the chance to appear at something as prestigious like this instead of the usual array of musicians.

Nothing really new, but it might as well be mentioned in this thread.
Paul McCartney’s Fortune Puts Him Atop The Richest British Musicians List
From the article:
Sir Paul McCartney has topped British newspaper the Sunday Times’ annual Rich List, with the paper estimating his vast fortune at just over $1.1 billion (£730 million).
The list actually pairs McCartney with his wife Nancy Shevell, who has a fortune all her own. Shevell’s family has a trucking empire in the United States, and from that she has accumulated a net worth of hundreds of millions, which bolsters McCartney’s as well. The two were married in 2011.
