Article on a Lennon statue outside a Tampa hotel.
Beatles fans feel fine when they see the life-size statue of the group’s founder, John Lennon , outside The Barrymore Hotel in downtown Tampa. Lennon wears a sport coat, long hair and his signature eyeglasses.

Article on the sale of John Lennon ‘s “Paperback Writer ” guitar.
I’m scratching my head, though. The article identifies the guitar as a Gretsch 6120 Chet Atkins, and I was almost certain that John used his Epiphone Casino on that song.

There are photos of the session with John actually holding the Gretsch on the original listing. It’s how they verified the authenticity of the guitar. I’m more surprised noone wanted it badly enough to meet the reserve given the provenance.
I'm like Necko only I'm a bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin and also everyone. Or is everyone me? Now I'm a confused bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin everyone who is definitely not @Joe. This has been true for 2016 & 2017 but I may have to get more specific in the future.

The tree planted in honor of George that was destroyed by (ironically enough to make him smile from ear-to-ear) beetles was replaced on his birthday.

I don’t remember if I posted this article, but the news was posted here and at one of the George thread (either birthday or Fiendish Thingies). I accidentally scheduled a hair appointment so I couldn’t make it. It’s just as well as apparently hundreds showed up. Which is wonderful for George, not so great for my thing about crowds.

They don’t have Here, There And Everywhere on the list. So I won’t read it.
(I’m a bit stroppy ‘cos Annadog’s “name the Beatlesong for this picture” is so opaque.)

Too bad your appointment wasn’t earlier in the day. You would have had the nicest hair there and everywhere.
