Examiner report on an upcoming film about John’s murder called ‘The Lennon Report’. Filming was due to begin yesterday (4th November 2014) with a release date of 2015 in time for the 35th anniversary of John’s killing.
Important to add that
According to an interview with co-writer Jeremy Profe by NY Movie Examiner Dorrie Olds, the film will not focus on Lennon’s murderer to avoid giving him more fame. “In our culture we make stars and anti-heroes out of these villains,” Profe said. “These are truly reprehensible people. It’s a disturbing trend to me and I won’t take part in it.”
Also from Examiner (the full story is at the link):
Over 100 rare Beatles items, including photos, memorabilia and art, will be available through an auction and separate sale this month by Mr. Musichead Gallery in Los Angeles, the gallery told Beatles Examiner Nov. 4. Items range from original photographs, rare posters, Apple Records promotional materials and original albums.

There is a third download available as well – ‘Love My Baby’ taken from ‘One Hand Clapping’.
I like this way of getting downloads and its nice to see a musician giving away new unreleased material for free. I know U2 did it recently as well but to be fair that was a) U2 and b) new U2.

I’m not sure if this belongs here, but it was the only place that made a bit of sense:
My sister posted this article today on Facebook:
If you can manage to get past this first paragraph:
“In 1967, John Lennon wrote a song called, “All You Need Is Love .” He also beat both of his wives, abandoned one of his children, verbally abused his gay Jewish manager with homophobic and anti-semitic slurs, and once had a camera crew film him lying naked in his bed for an entire day.”
I didn’t read the whole thing, looks like a lot of dribble. The first part totally turned me off, I get so tired of people’s assumptions and exaggerations about John. I commented and said (to my sister):
“I have to point out that whoever wrote the article was grossly exaggerating in the first paragraph about John Lennon “
She responded with “Meh. I disagree. But that’s not really the point of the article anyways”
And at that point I just left the conversation in fear of having an argument about it.
"Please don't bring your banjo back, I know where it's been.. I wasn't hardly gone a day, when it became the scene.. Banjos! Banjos! All the time, I can't forget that tune.. and if I ever see another banjo, I'm going out and buy a big balloon!"

From The Hollywood Reporter:
The industry heavyweight, representing Pharrell Williams and others, believes that YouTube hasn’t made all necessary deals for its new subscription service and is prepared to take his clients off of the YouTube ecosystem
Many works composed by popular musicians including The Eagles, Pharrell Williams, Boston, Foreigner, John Lennon , Smokey Robinson, Chris Cornell and George and Ira Gershwin could be headed off YouTube.
