There are some really nice posters at music philosophy.
For example:

There are more available in the range, though those were the only ones in the shop. Anyway, I bought small samples, which I’ll hopefully turn into a patchwork cushion (with a little help, as I’m not handy with a needle and thread).
I didn’t know any Beatles fabrics were available. They were made by Cranston Village a few years ago and officially licensed by Apple Corps, but don’t seem to be made anymore.

A new and very challenging Beatles quiz has been posted on Fun Trivia: Anomalies in Beatles Songs
Should be no problem for the Lewisohn-heads out there among us… …but I did have to look up three of the questions.
Groovy fabrics, by the way… too bad I’m all thumbs when it comes to sewing. The black-n-white print would make a great quilt cover for my son.
That’s a good one. I had to check a couple – the bad edit question, and the last one (the line Beatles For Sale ).

Yeah, I had to look up the Beatles For Sale one as well… plus, I didn’t know about the bleedover on Yer Blues or “roll over, Maurice.”

Hmmm… I want to ask Ringo that famous question Paul was asked: “If John Lennon came back for one day, how would you spend it with him?” (Wonder if he’d respond as Paul did… )
Anyway, I’m all about trivia… so here’s a daily trivia tournament I challenge you to join: http://www.funtrivia.com/priva…..?tid=82980

I’ll have to try that out.
Nowhere Boy finally has a US release date – BREAKING NEWS!: U.S. release date finally announced for John Lennon biopic ‘Nowhere Boy’
Took them long enough. It opens October 8th.

It’ll be out on DVD/BluRay here next month. Unusual for us to be so far ahead of the US, but I suppose it is a UK film.

It came out here in Australia the same time as the UK. According to Wikipedia, it came out internationally on Boxing Day. No idea why they delayed the release in the USA.

Wasn’t it the only Beatles movie of the decade?
From the picture of the DVD box, it looked like it was rated 18. That’s harsh. It was only M (unrestricted) in Australia.

And region locked too?

Actually I think there was a movie about the death of John Lennon called Chapter 27 with Lindsey Lohan. Which explains why she felt the need to cover ADitL.
That is strange. I would have expected PG13 here.

Does region locking still make a difference? I thought all DVD players were easily sorted – there’s usually a remote control sequence you can find on the web which will do the job.
I think a bigger issue might be PAL/NTSC. This will be a PAL release and might look odd on US TVs. I’m not sure what effect it’ll have. The NTSC DVDs I have look fine on my ancient PAL TV, but I haven’t seen the opposite.
Lohan/ADITL?

I’m glad they fixed up the DVD regions with Blu-ray, now there’s only 3. Europe and Australia and now the same region (2) so my uncle can start sending me films again (when Blu-rays come down in price that is). The Americas are in a different region (1) so that’s not so good, but as Joe said, there’s probably an easy way around it, plus a lot of Blu-rays are region free anyway.
I remember Chapter 27. I was confused at why they called it Chapter 27 at first, I thought it might have had something to do with the Bible, so I looked it up in my school bible and, sure enough, Revelations is number 27 – book 27 though, not chapter, but close enough. It was weird that the actor who played John Lennon was called Mark Chapman.
I think there was also a remake of that film… can’t remember the title though.
The Catcher In The Rye had 26 chapters. That’s why it had that title.

That’s what I meant. I’m not sure my TV can play PAL – I’m just impatient really.
My sister was looking up Beatles covers on iTunes and came accross her version. It just shouldn’t be, but it is.

Ay-yai-yai! So am I! But I’d rather wait for a decent version than get something that’ll be all wonky… And, besides, I’m looking forward to seeing it on the big screen first.
Well, the release date obviously has something to do with capitalizing on John’s 70th birthday and the 30th anniversary of his death. You know us Yanks… it’s all about the bottom line!

Yeah, I was thinking that too. Fall is also when Oscar contenders come out, so yes, they’re trying to capitalize on this as much as possible.

Why would it be wonky?
