Last night marks the third time I’ve had a Beatles dream during the night and woke up and said that I needed to put it on the Forum. I go back to sleep, and when I wake up, can’t remember the dream.

Have there been any studies that indicate that increased episodes of not being able to remember your dreams is the first sign of dementia?

Thank you, Beatles. I know you’re in my dreams. Sorry I can’t remember them.

Iirc you’re more likely to remember a dream the closer you had it to when you got up – so a dream at 3am is less likely to be remembered than one at 6am.

I can confirm this. I always remember the later dreams more clearly even if they were all quote vivid at the time. I wonder if it may have something to do with how your brain “rinses” memories away whilst you sleep.

SS? I’ve also found that I remember dreams more clearly if I wake up after them in the middle of the night. Sometimes, when that happens, I’ll take a moment to go over the dream to encode it more deeply in my memory before I go back to sleep.

Yes. You need to write them down upon waking or they tend to fade. That is normal.

A real weird one from last night.  Paul (c.1967 with his moustache) and Ringo (c.1969 Magic Christian era) were recording a charity record together… in a primary school of all places a-hard-days-night-paul-4 and I was supposed to be some kind of arranger for the project. It was a bleak grey morning and I remember wandering up and down outside the school (a typical 70s narrow English road with semi-detached Victorian houses and barely any cars parked along the street but this school in the middle) waiting for the both of them to arrive. Paul turned up first and said they were recording in the dining hall so I walked him to it without saying much. After I left him to wait in there, Ringo arrived shortly afterwards and said he needed to use the toilet before they started recording and suddenly so did I. The school was quiet and empty up to this point but as soon as we walked up to the toilet door and I opened it, a whole group of small schoolkids came bursting out of the cubicles, screaming, running around and climbing the walls. And it ended there… a-hard-days-night-ringo-7

I was standing in the back parking lot of a Costco in what seemed to be summertime, and all of a sudden, recent-times Ringo rolled on in in a small cardboard car with a giant pair of (also cardboard) scissors on top. He smiled at me as he drove by, and I smiled back. ahdn_ringo_09

Also, Tom Petty and Eric Clapton were inside having a chat, but I didn’t want to interrupt their conversation.

I had a dream last night where I was on a sort of date with Paul (circa late 1965ish). We were walking around the park, talking (about what, I don’t know) and holding hands, and then all of a sudden we were at my house on the sofa. We were talking about nonsense again and he had his arm around my shoulders. Then he said “Wait a minute” and got up and went into a room out of sight. He came back dressed as Hamburg-era Paul with the quiff and leather and everything. And then we both started uncontrollably giggling for some reason. The dream ended with us in the park again, him in his leather still, and he was playing something on my acoustic guitar. Then I woke up, sadly. a-hard-days-night-paul-10

I really enjoy having dreams with the Beatles in them. It was such a pleasant one, too. One of those peaceful-feeling dreams where you wish you could return to, so you hold onto it in your mind and replay it whilst daydreaming. a-hard-days-night-paul-7

Cynthia Lennon learned martial arts so she could combat John next time he was being mean.

But uh oh Joh killed Cynthia! Paul finds out but swears to secrecy other wise John will get him too!

To bad for Paul his daughter Victoria finds out and John is gonna kill Victoria as well!

Paul and Victoria run away.

I was with the Beatles (circa 1966 look for each of them) in the studio while they were recording a song. The studio was a room with a sofa, chairs, a rug, and a very large window that looked out onto a lot full of trees. The room was very shady and cool.

I heard someone from the control room say, “They will never put that on a record.” I understood that to mean that the company wouldn’t let it be on a record. But, somehow in the dream, I knew that it did get onto a record and went on to become one of their most loved songs.

What was running through my mind when the recording stopped was that the Beatles had recorded the song once, but that I would relive the moment thousands of times in my mind and soul.

I had an odd dream a few nights ago where I was in my car, and the song that was playing was a version of the Taylor Swift song “State Of Grace” being sung by Ringo Starr .  I later found out that Ringo’s version was recorded in 1992, and thus Taylor Swift had covered his song in 2012.

Had a dream last night where my Kelsey Grammar was like my uncle or something, and he asked what I wanted for my birthday and I asked for the White Album and Abbey Road . But, in my dream, he gave me some weird Beatles EP that I had never heard of. The cover art was a blurry photo of just John and Paul smiling widely and some random abstract, colourful geometric shapes. It didn’t have a title, but I remember that my dream self flipped it over to look at the track listing and I could just make out that “Got To Get You Into My Life ,” “Leave My Kitten Alone ,” and “I’ll Be Back ” and then a bunch of blurry dream text also on the back of the record that I couldn’t make out. Then, I started to like scream and cry in anger at Kelsey Grammar because I was upset that he got me some dumb, weirdly-put-together, seemingly-bootlegged Beatles EP thingy instead of the White Album or Abbey Road . All of this took place in my room, and my dream self was so angry that I threw the record on the floor and demanded that Kelsey return it and get me something else (damn, my dream self is a little brat a-hard-days-night-paul-10). My dream self was crying at this point on my bed, and then George came in with a cat and let me hold his cat while he like comforted me and spoke some words that I couldn’t really make out in my dream but I knew were wise ahdn_george_05. Then George got up and shooed Kelsey Grammar away and then my dream ended with me petting a cat, and George petting another cat that randomly showed up, and then my dog was there and then I woke up upset that I had to leave George and those cats behind but also still mad that Kelsey Grammar gifted me that crappy and random EP.

was starting to do something (I can’t remember exactly what, but maybe something with a car or sneaking in somewhere) he knew he shouldn’t be doing. He was laying on the charm to get me to be his lookout to try to keep him from getting caught. I kept telling myself to resist those twinkling eyes, that flirty smile, and those words of coy pleading. Might as well have been trying to tell a planet to stop revolving around the sun.

I’ve been listening way too much to the original West End cast album of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera as well as watching some video essays about The Phantom of the Opera on youtube, so I’ve been having some wack dreams recently bc of all this Phantom media that I’ve been consuming. One such dream included me being somehow apart of the original West End run of Phantom (I was like a stagehand or whatever– all I know is that I was vaguely omnipresent at every show)– except Michael Crawford doesn’t play Erik (aka the Opera Ghost aka the Phantom of the Opera, etc.), Paul is playing Erik and doing a really good job (at least, a significantly better job compared to Gerard Butler’s performance as the Phantom in Joel Schumacker’s 2004 film adaption of Webber’s musical– yikes.) I then woke up from my dream kinda confused but also legitimately pondering the idea that Paul McCartney as the Phantom of the Opera would be kinda okay.

Right at the tail end of a dream last night, I could hear Baby You’re A Rich Man playing from a stereo. In the dream, I was so excited and couldn’t wait to wake up and tell you all about the dream. So, that means my dreaming self was dreaming a two-layer dream…the dream with the song playing and then the layer that was excited to about telling you about the dream with the music playing. a-hard-days-night-ringo-7

Sounds like you were lucid dreaming! Lucid dreams can be pretty fun. I’ve had them before, but unfortunately not with anything Beatley.
