A MASSIVE archive of John Lennon memorabilia!!!

It was in a super-secure vault deep in a cave. The cave would get flooded at times (yeah, stories about the Thai cave rescue came flying into my dream from out in left field), but the vault was leak-proof. Some people took me to see the archive. The items were in boxes like bank safety deposit boxes, but they were on shelves like books, and the spines looked like encyclopedia spines. They took one of the boxes out and let me open it. For the life of me, I can’t remember what was in it. We took the box out of the cave.

Later, when we went to put the box back, the people told me of an EVEN MORE MASSIVE archive of John Lennon and Beatles stuff that Bob Wooler had collected that was deeper in the cave. I guess I had been a good girl because they (current day Pattie Boyd was in the group) took me to see it. paul-mccartney-thumb_gif The place was so big, I couldn’t see the back of it from the door we went in. Someone held up a cd and said that it was the only one in the world like it.

I think at that point, my real conscious self woke my sleeping self up so that we both wouldn’t pass out from excitement.a-hard-days-night-george-4

Just woke up from about two hours of sleep to post this dream (I was up at 7:30am yesterday so fell asleep way earlier than usual) while I can still remember most of it:

I was in some sort of church building where they were holding a tribute convention for John and Yoko. There were stalls of people inside the venue showing off their illustrations, paintings, sculptures and other stuff of them, including one American guy who looked exactly like John from 1969 (Abbey Road era/Jesus phase) who had written two separate biographies on John and Yoko. Both books were roughly the same size as The Beatles Anthology book. I think the one on John had a white cover and was called “Give Peace A Chance ” whilst the Yoko one had a black cover and was called “Why” (after her song). Another person at the event was this 5 year old blond boy, who had painted John with a quiff from 1961 walking across Abbey Road holding a guitar, which I thought was cool.

But the best part of the dream… Paul, George and Ringo were there! beatlemaniacs_02_gif Paul (c.1973 with this mullet) and Linda (c.1968-69) were walking around taking snaps of the event, whilst George (c. 1971, Concert For Bangladesh) and Ringo (c. 1976) were going around looking at the stalls separately. I don’t why I didn’t approach any of them, but I must’ve been respecting their personal space. Then this Jamaican woman, who I assume had set up the convention, came out and announced something along the lines of “Thank you for coming, ladies and gentlemen. But now we have a real surprise for you! ” All of a sudden, John (c. 1971) and Yoko (c.1980) burst through the church doors and everybody cheered! They were shaking hands with George and Ringo, and were taking a look at the people’s artworks for themselves, but I noticed John seemed to deliberately avoid Paul and Linda, who were still taking pictures, but both them looked disappointed and a tad upset that John was ignoring and not talking to them. I finally decided to go and hug the pair of them but the dream ended.

Even John knows Paul went too far with that mullet. He couldn’t bear to see his friend look like that. LOL.

I was with the lads (circa early-1964-ish) and we were watching a television fit for the time, and an episode of a programme where they played a short show was on. The host mentioned something about them playing a tune called Window, Window. It was very poppy and really quite good, and was a cover; George sang lead. Upon hearing this the lads made jokes about the song, George jokingly singing along and saying something along the lines of how it was popular among the fans and as a result was requested and played a lot.

Then I remember ever so vaguely something about present-day Paul and an escalator in a stadium… a-hard-days-night-paul-10

I was in some odd western town in the US next to a canyon you could walk through. The little town run by some odd sect of people. They had the ultimate flea market/2nd-hand/oddity store on the planet. I didn’t have a lot of time to spend there (even if I had wanted to!), but I thought it would look strange if I left town 2 seconds after I had arrived. So, I decided to take a look around. Of course, I decided I’d look for Beatles-related items. ahdn_john_08_gif I found a fold-up poster about PID. I was contemplating whether to buy it or not when my alarm went off. That’s a decision I’m glad I didn’t have to make.

Country road. Barbed wire fence running alongside the road. Boards with words on them hung on the barbed wire fence.

As I am driving by the boards I start reading the words.
I…
Thought…
I…
Would…
Write…
A…
Song

I was singing the words in my mind to the tune of Jealous Guy . I was really thinking these were lyrics John wrote and sang. I started bouncing up and down in my seat so excited that I would be able to tell you all about this Beatley moment I was having.

Then I woke up. It took me a moment to get my bearings. Then I realized I had been dreaming, and that I would be telling you about this in the Beatles dreams thread instead of the Beatley Moments thread.

I recently had a dream in which I was Brian Epstein’s assistant, and I went with the Beatles on an American tour. For some reason we went straight to Monterey, and the first venue was on this sort of fishing dock outside of an aquarium. Instead of there being a stage with instruments, there was this little submarine that looked like it was made out of cellophane wrap, very shoddy construction, and all the people there were saying “It’s the Yellow Submarine , one of the Beatles has to go in it” and John (1965) and Ringo (1964) both made excuses and basically ran away. I was panicking because George (late 1964) looked like he was going to volunteer and I thought “he’s going to die in that thing.” So I turned to Paul (early 1964) and said “You’ll go, won’t you, Paul?” and he just looked at me like “no way” and George got mad at me for trying to stop him and said he would do it and they put him in this giant clunky diving suit and put him in the Submarine and it went under the water. Paul and I waited for what felt like hours until it finally came up again and George was alive, thank God . And then I woke up filled with an amazing sensation of relief.

Paul bought a mobile home on some land out in the country in Mississippi. He lived there for a few weeks. When he was leaving for his next tour, he chose someone to live in the house while he was gone. Somehow, that person was me. Before he left he told me watch a certain station at a certain time on a certain day to hear some of his songs redone so they sounded like country and western music. He wrote the details down on a piece of paper and handed it to me.

I can remember making a grilled cheese sandwich on the stove there in the house. I also remember seeing some of his clothes, a blue and red sweater and a pair of jeans. I turned the TV on that day. All I can remember is seeing Paul on the screen. I don’t remember which songs he had redone.

A few days later he walked back into the mobile home, and said there was one more part of this prize that I had won. In walked Nancy, and she sat down with me at the kitchen table. We started talking. I kept telling myself don’t smile and look like a goofball, don’t smile and look like a goofball. We were having such a lovely conversation when I woke up.

I was walking through the streets in London with my luggage (which consists of one backpack and one carry-on size rolling bag) trying to find the tube station so I could get to the airport for my flight home. Paul started walking with me and said, “I can get you to the tube station, Love.”

The next thing I know, we are in an apartment/flat, and he is cooking spaghetti. Between stirs of the sauce, we are kissing passionately. Heavy sexual tension is in the air.

Then we are walking out on the street again, this time I am carrying a brown paper bag with Christmas gifts Paul is going to give people. We both have to go to the loo. We stop at a public loo, and Paul walks into the women’s room with me. I tell him, “No, Paul, you’re going to get arrested.” There are two women in the room. After Paul relieves his bladder and washes his hands, he sweeps one of them up and starts dancing. He tells her that he is having a wonderful day. I ask the other woman if she knows who that is, and she says with mouth ajar, “Paul McCartney .” While in the loo, the paper bag tips over and the presents spill out. I gather them up, and tell Paul I can’t carry the bag anymore. He says, “I’ll carry it, Love.”

Next, we are in a cafeteria of a university student union. A guy drops a pound coin. I pick it up for him. I notice it is one of the new, just minted coins. I ask him if I can give him some smaller amount coins and keep that coin since I didn’t have one and I was leaving for the US that day. I guess he agreed. Then I noticed that the uni cafeteria was also a small grocery store. I thought that was a really neat idea.

Paul and I are walking along the street again. I tell him I must hurry to the airport because I don’t have enough money to change my airplane ticket. He says, “Don’t worry, Love. I will buy you a new ticket because I don’t want you to leave. I want to show you how the architecture in this part of London has changed through the centuries.” I thought to myself that I needed to let the people at work know that I was going to need to take off for a few more days. But, I realized that I hadn’t gotten a data or phone plan for the trip so the call or email back to the US was going to be expensive. Dang it sleeping brain…why care what that cost of contacting them would be!!! You’re hanging out with PAUL MCCARTNEY!!!!
