I had a dream that their was a fire in my house, and for some reason their were a lot of people in it. We were all getting ready to escape when some mom said “Wait ! It’s freezing outside! Everybody must wear their jackets first, it’s freezing outside!” For some reason no one objected, and these were HUGE jackets. We could barely move. We went to the living room, and I noticed The Beatles were playing. So then I said “WAIT! Let’s wait for the song to finish!”

We all spent the rest of the time listening to them and looking at pictures of them in the middle of a fire. a-hard-days-night-george-9

I am very happy, and one reason is because I have The Beatles. Thank you!!!! heart heart heart heart

I don’t often remember my dreams that vividly, but last night I had a Beatles-related one which I remember nearly every facet of and I’ve immediately run to my laptop to share it with the forum before it slips away as dreams often do.
The first part of the dream I remember, I was suddenly attending this enormous charity event which Paul was holding at a fictional enormous warehouse in Kensington Gardens in London, which was decorated with vast posters of the Beatles circa 1969. I went to talk to Paul, who was sitting in the corner of the warehouse at a desk in an office kind of area with a blue light cast on it. I awkwardly made conversation and said I wanted to ask him some questions about writing songs, he was very jokey and friendly and made me feel at ease. I asked, “when you write a song, do you think of the melody before the words? Or do you write a poem and then put music to it?” He seemed unsure of this question so I said “or do you let a little riff or main hook pop into your head and then form a song around that? For instance the main riff of Listen to What The Man Said?” I sang him the riff and he said “I never really considered that riff to be the main bit of the song.”
“Or for instance,” I said, “the main hook of My Love?” and sang the “My love does it good” line. Paul said, “that bit’s bloody hard to sing, it’s in the soprano range.” Then I asked if I could play him a song I had written and asked if he had a guitar. He pointed out that there was one leaning against the wall behind me so I picked it up and started to play a real song I’d written, but my performance was disastrous- I couldn’t remember the chords and my voice kept cracking and faltering. I kept apologising and being very awkward and embarrassed and Paul looked a bit disapproving and peeved that I was wasting his time. In the end I just abandoned the song and gave him a hug before I left but I remember feeling like I had let him down and that I was just another fan who was pestering him while he was busy. It was kind of depressing I guess.

Had another incoherent dream featuring the Beatles a coupla weeks ago, although they really only played a small role – basically a cameo appearance. I was on a campgrounds with a bunch of acquaintances, there was a campfire going, and the Beatles sitting on the ground several yards away, in a circle facing away from one another, with their hands on their knees. They were partially covered with moss or dirt or something (!) and were silent and unmoving as stones. Somehow we understood that this was part of their creative process and they weren’t to be disturbed, so all we did was steal the occasional glance at them. Weird dream.

Funny dream. When I dream about them it seems like somebody always dies, and it’s usually one of them. Weird, I guess my subconscious doesn’t like them as much as I do.

Now, are we talking about dream-dreams or about daydreams?
Dreams – Yes, I’ve had one (only one unfortunately), George was in it but I don’t remember much. Isn’t it funny that you remember ones that you don’t want to, like nightmares of the exorcist, but lovely ones of George, you don’t!
As for daydreams, well, there’s not nearly enough time in the world to tell you all about those.

I’m afraid my dream is a bit more grotesque and disturbing than all of you guys’ fun Beatles dreams…but…here goes:
I dreamt about a month or so ago that I was walking barefooted along a pebbly beach in a white cotton dress. The sky was terribly overcast and the wind was blowing like mad. My hair was churning all around me, stinging my face. Although I was at the seaside, the air was freezing–in the bitter cold kind of way that causes your skin to take on the quality of braille from all of the chillbumps. The sea was to my left, but to my right was the lining of a forest. All of the trees had been either burned down (it looked like I may have been looking at the aftermath of a lightning storm) or were fallen over, and there wasn’t a trace of a single leaf. Not a sign of life at all, actually…until I saw a man off in the distance, cloaked in blood. Half of his naked body was in the water and half was on the pebbly sand. He appeared to be having some kind of convulsion and was writhing and twitching around, causing half of his bloody body–the half that was on land–to cover itself in sand. As I came closer to the man, a ringing sound resonated throughout my ears, and the ringing became louder and louder as I got closer and closer to the man. When I had fully approached the man, another strange sound sensation clashed with the ringing: a sound like the crashing of waves. By this time, I was fully deaf to any sound but the sounds of ringing and the crash of water. I looked into the man’s face, a face stained red from all of the blood that had cascaded down his whole body, and recognized him as John Lennon (’65-ish). I was standing above him as he writhed on the ground below me, and he was looking up into my face and smiling. Smiling! And although I couldn’t hear because of the intense sound filling my ears, he was laughing maniacally, his teeth spotted with crimson blood. And I just stood there, watching him die some kind of torturous death that he seemed to find amusing…letting him die. And for every second that passed of me not even attempting to save him, a red flower would appear on my purely white dress–my own blood.
So there you have it, folks! Sorry if my dream was a bit too disturbing for any of you…I know it certainly was for me…

That was pretty impressive, Dips. You seemed to have tried hard to get all the senses tingling up and around, and it was pretty convincing (better than I could do, and that might be a compliment)! And your dream was pretty disturbing, which is probably why you remember it so vividly. It’s always the weird, disturbed dreams I remember best.

Thanks, unknown! I can almost always remember my dreams that vividly: could be because of the fact that I have chronic nightmares, tho–and as you said–disturbing dreams are always the ones we remember best…

I’ve had this recurring dream since I was about 5…
My brother was away at college and I was at my house in the backyard, near the pool. Between the pool and the driveway was a hedge that was about 10 feet tall. My mother and I were outside doing something (I dunno what), and while we were out there, we heard someone pull into the driveway. It was the Beatles tour bus! They got out and hugged me (I dunno why) and came through the gate to the pool. There was a big banner on the hedge now, that read “Welcome Beatles!” and something about my brother not being there. So the Beatles and I hung out, and the only words I can remember myself saying were, “Wow, sucks for Richard that he doesn’t get to meet the Beatles…” and that’s the end.

Then there’s another one.
I’m walking in a desert along a road, and there are no cars whatsoever. I’ve been walking for a while, and then I see one thing on the road. It was the Beatles tour bus! (again). They pulled over and invited me in, and of course, I accepted their offer. We drove down the road, doing who knows what and again, I thought, “Wow, sucks for Richard that he doesn’t get to meet the Beatles…” and that’s the end.

I don’t know what the dreams mean, but I do know one thing. It sucks for Richard that he is never in my dreams.

My Beatle dream that I had the other night was really random. I was in this big book store, and it was just me and this huge camp group in the store. I was just looking around (and trying to tune out the obnoxiously loud camp group), when Paul just randomly walks up to me, nods his head and smiles, and continues to look through the book shelves. It took me a second to notice that he wasn’t Paul, but Paul in Beatles cartoon form. This made absolutely no sense to me, how a cartoon could just walk into the regular world, but two seconds later, John, George, and Ringo came up behind him, all in cartoon form. Once again, they all smiled and nodded and waved. John whispered something into Paul’s ear, and he started freaking out. I tried asking what was wrong but they wouldn’t listen to me. Paul whispered something into George’s ear, and George starts like, hyperventilating. Ringo looked just as confused as I was. He shook his head, and grabbed my arm, pulling me away from the other cartoon Beatles, who were still having a panic attack. He walked me over to a janitor’s closet, and indicated that he wanted me to lock him in there. I didn’t understand why, but he looked like he really wanted me to do this for some reason, so I locked him in the closet. I sat and waited outside the closet, in case he needed something else, but after waiting a few hours, cartoon John, Paul and George came over and shooed me away from the door. They sat down and did exactly what I had been doing: sitting outside of the door, doing nothing. I was about to tell them how confusing this all was, and ask what was going on, but I woke up. It wasn’t exactly a pleasant dream, but a dream with the Beatles can’t be too horrible, can it? a-hard-days-night-george-10

mr. Sun king coming together

I had one last night now. Well, sort of. It’s weird, and very very unexplainable (at least why I had the dream). Anyway, here it goes:
Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper died. Which sucked, but there was to be a tribute concert consisting of all my favourite Canadian acts (City and Colour, Tragically Hip, Arcade Fire, etc.) with an unnamed special guest, who I presumed was Justin Bieber (special unnamed Canadian artist – who else?). However, it was Paul. And I had backstage passes. And then, just as Sir Paul said “Hi” to me backstage, I woke up. Worst time ever.

I tried to think of something powerful and moving… and failed. “You were given a choice between war and dishonor – you chose dishonor, and you shall have war” – Winston Churchill

Only tangentially a Beatle dream, but 2-3 nights ago I dreamed I was in a restaurant, and the waiter went to get menus and returned with double-cardboard White Album -type sleeves that he removed the menus from and distributed them. The sleeves didn’t say “THE BEATLES” on them but did had the name of the restaurant (“Watercress Cafe”!) embossed on them, and I remember distinctly thinking “hey just like the White Album !” so that makes it officially a Beatle Dream.

ANOTHER minor Beatle dream, my second in a week! This one’s less than two hours old:

I was stepping onto an elevator, a special elevator which traveled horizontally rather than vertically for some reason, and sitting on a chair in the corner is none other than Paul McCartney . I say “Hey, you’re Paul McCartney aren’t you?” He gives me a little smile and says “Weeee-bo!” and starts laughing like he’s made a joke. I start to laugh along with him, when I look in his mouth and notice that he’s got absolutely no teeth! Then I woke up.
