I meant to add this thought I had while watching the Ohio State Band performance.

I think it is cool that they just assumed everyone would know what/how to sing along to the end of Hey Jude . The stadium was probably filled with lots of young, college age kids, and they na-na-na’d along beautifully.

Did someone say Jeff Beck Beatle cover? I just found this live version of “She’s A Woman “! I was previously only familiar with the (George Martin produced) album version (also talkbox-led.)

GEORGE: In fact, The Detroit Sound. JOHN: In fact, yes. GEORGE: In fact, yeah. Tamla-Motown artists are our favorites. The Miracles. JOHN: We like Marvin Gaye. GEORGE: The Impressions PAUL & GEORGE: Mary Wells. GEORGE: The Exciters. RINGO: Chuck Jackson. JOHN: To name but eighty.

From MySuburbanLife.com:

The nine singers of Chicago a cappella will take on the classic songs of the Fab Four in their concert, “Beatlemania.” From “Can’t Buy Me Love” to “Let it Be,” the acclaimed vocal ensemble will put a dynamic a cappella spin on treasures of popular music.

 Multi-talented musician Paul Langford, known for his work in both the classical and pop fields, serves as guest music director. The ensemble’s founding artistic director is Jonathan Miller of Downers Grove.

“Beatlemania” will be performed at 8 p.m. Friday, April 10, in Wentz Concert Hall on the campus of North Central College, 171 E. Chicago Ave., Naperville; 4 p.m. Sunday, April 12, in Pilgrim Congregational Church, 460 Lake St., Oak Park; 8 p.m. Friday, April 17, at Reva and David Logan Center for the Arts, 915 E. 60th St., Chicago, with a post-show, talk-back event with 93WXRT radio personality and Beatles expert Terri Hemmert; and 8 p.m. Saturday, April 18, in Nichols Concert Hall, 1490 Chicago Ave., Evanston.

Yeah, tho in that People article it quotes Kurt from 1989 saying he wasnt a Paul McCartney fan. Maybe he changed his mind and came to his senses. Who can resist Paul?

@Into the Sky with Diamonds

THAT. WAS. AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!   beatlemaniacs_02_gif heart

I was enraptured… and I’m not normally a huge fan of ‘Hotel California’, but I must admit the chords are out of this world. It looked like terrific fun, and she kept glancing up saucily like, ‘Yeah, you know it!’

Then I watched her cover of While My Guitar Gently Weeps

beatlemaniacs_02_gif X 20!!!!!!!

It took my breath away. God , she’s good. I am, to put it mildly, impressed.

Me too! Pre-disco era Bee Gees were tremendous. What a talented family – such harmonies, even on the video you posted.

To the fountain of perpetual mirth, let it roll for all its worth. And all the children boogie.
