With an uncharacteristic slip, parlance forgot the link on this one. It can be found here, and well worth it it is too – includes a great slideshow of the pictures on offer.

A story related to this auction
The Beatles: Neighbour of John Lennon’s mum reveals she told young Fab Four to ‘keep racket down’
A neighbour living nextdoor to John Lennon ‘s mum’s house regularly told the rehearsing Fab Four to stop their racket – because it was keeping her baby awake.
Thelma Cain got fed up of the budding young Mop Tops honing their craft in the semi-detached’s bathroom, where the acoustics were supposedly better.
Now 82, the pensioner has recalled how John, Paul, George and Ringo were the bane of her life as she tried to get peace and quiet for her newborn daughter.
But despite dispatching her husband nextdoor to order the boys to turn it down, he got caught up in the fun and didn’t return for hours.
It later emerged he’d been sitting with the rehearsing Beatles in the bathroom, drinking and getting hooked on their soon-to-be hits.
Thelma said: “Once, when my daughter was only a few weeks old, I sent my husband round to shut them up.
“He didn’t come back for three hours, he’d been listening to their music and drinking with them!
Ringo wouldn’t have been in that bathroom. Would George have ever been in there?

It’s a limited edition, numbered and signed edition of I Me Mine by George Harrison , no. 1369. Here’s the listing: http://www.ebay.com/itm/281518111711. Thought I’d share since this is a rare item and I’m motivated to sell.

From the Liverpool Echo:
Documents detailing the breakdown of John Lennon ’s marriage to first wife Cynthia will go to auction in Warrington next month.
The previously unseen and unpublished five page dossier, which was drafted in 1968 by a solicitor dealing with the divorce of Lennon and Cynthia, includes a draft statement made by the Beatles member’s former housekeeper, Dorothy Jarlett.
It details the housekeeper’s account of what she saw while working for Lennon at his family home Kenwood in Weybridge, Surrey.
The statement details changes in his moods following drug abuse, his attitude towards his son Julian, and the change in his morning routine, which saw Dorothy no longer allowed to take him breakfast in bed due to Yoko Ono spending the night, supposedly in a separate room whilst Cynthia was away.
The documents, which are expected to fetch up to £5,000, are part of a wider auction of Beatles memorabilia taking place at Omega Auctions in Warrington on Tuesday, March 24.
Pictures of the documents at the link.

The 1962 Star Club tapes from which all the “semi-legal” releases have been made will be auctioned in London on 26 March.
After being offered around for many years…
…they ended up with Larry Grossberg, the business manager of Andy Warhol and Muhammad Ali, who spent £100,000 on remixing them and releasing 26 of the finished tracks on an album released in 1977.
Now Grossberg has decided to sell the two original safety master tapes from which the album was produced along with various remixes and the seven-inch reel safety master of the original unedited Beatles mono tape that ran during the performances, often when the band were not playing. “I’m 74 and it’s time to sell,” he said. “I don’t want my family to have the burden of going through my things and liquidating everything.”
Grossberg is also in possession of a letter from Apple saying they will not contest the sale as they will not come with rights.
They have a reserve of £100,000-£150,000… but who knows how high they could go…
******************
The official announcement of the sale is on the site of auctioneers Ted Owen & Co.
Despite the assertions in many stories about the number of tracks being 33 (the number known to exist), the announcement only says “over 28”. It could have been further clarified by them, but they are not reflecting that in their announcement – though there are other details in circulation that are also not in their announcement.
They say full details will be published on their website by the end of February. Assuming they list the contents of the unedited tape, we may finally know for certain just what was recorded in Hamburg, and the correct order.

Wasnt the unedited tape put out by Hobnail on two bootlegs a few years ago? Or was that unedited tape a copy of another tape that was edited? I lose track of what was when it was before it was what it became what it is now.

@meanmistermustard Hobnail’s two sets (Red Hot and Three Thirty Blues) were based on some raw tapes made available on Purple Chick’s Star Club set, along with several tracks from an “official” CD that PC also used, and some guesswork on the placing of songs. The raw tapes appear to be the ones prepared by Lingasong for the producers to do their worst with. In the lyric transcriptions included, for instance, Hobnail adds a note partway through Be-Bop-a-Lula: “This section appears to have been looped by Lingasong… with the same wrong lyrics and timing slip…”.
So, great as Hobnail’s work is, it doesn’t take us back to the unedited tape included in this sale.

Ah. Thanks. I cant keep up with what sources are used for bootlegs.
Wogblog reports that this tape has been up for sale already without meeting with success.
It has previously been up for sale over at American Memorabilia, where it has been around for years without anyone bothering to buy it. Now that it has attracted the attention of the mainstream media, maybe they’ll find a buyer, who knows?
Should it be surprising that Apple have agreed to the sale as altho the rights to the music are not for sale they will probably (and hopefully) be booted soon after- which would be great.
Tho a few other tapes have surfaced, been bought and then disappeared without seeing the light of day – that demo of ‘Eleanor Rigby ‘ being the one that automatically comes to mind but an acetate of ‘What Goes On ‘ from ’63 I remember and wasnt there one of ‘Love You To ‘ which had Paul’s harmonies before they were wiped.
