note by meanmistermustard (26/11/2014): recently it became apparent that this thread and another called ‘Your Favourite Bands (Other than the Beatles)’ had become the same discussion and so in keeping with the continued cleaning up of the forum i have merged them together. The chronology of the discussions should have remained in order with the merge.

Are The Beatles number one in your books, like they are mine?

Other possible favorite bands include:

The Doors

The Who

Jefferson Airplane

Creedence Clearwater Revival

No, I’m kidding, they all SUCK compared to THE BEATLES!!!

(But serious, I will not judge).

When I Twish And Shout, it makes the Girl say "What Goes On?", and than I say, "I do this Here, There and Everywhere", and than she finishes by saying "Honey Don't".

I tell myself they aren’t my favorite band, and that the Turtles or the Zombies are, ’cause people always make fun of me for it, but the Beatles really are my favorite band. What can I say? Some people are Boston fans, some are Green Day fans… some love Led Zeppelin, and others enjoy stupid autotune stuff…

…but the cool people are Beatles fans. I’m a Beatlemaniac!

I’m pretty sure the favorite band for anyone who visits this site is the Beatles… haha blue-meanie Only true Beatles fans regularly visit a Beatles forum.

I certainly like other bands (Queen, The Killers, The Alan Parsons Project, The Doors, ELO, Noisettes, Ok Go, They Might Be Giants, etc.), I haven’t joined a forum to discuss them or their music. So there’s that.

There’s only been a couple of answers, but they were both excellent…

…I HAD to point that out.

When I Twish And Shout, it makes the Girl say "What Goes On?", and than I say, "I do this Here, There and Everywhere", and than she finishes by saying "Honey Don't".

The Beatles are my favorite band because I know them so well and they’re so easy to listen to. But my favorite band that I’m really currently listening to is this little funk band called the Meters.

Like I’ve said before… The Beatles are my favorite band along with Green Day.

Another of my favorite bands is Jawbreaker. They broke up in 1996. If you like any early Green Day records, you’d probably like Jawbreaker. They are the definition of San Francisco / East Bay Punk Rock.

I’m going to substitute “artists” for “band” so I can open it up a bit.

The Beatles are my favorite artists, and it’s not even close.

After them, my favorites are The Who, The Rolling Stones, and Bob Dylan.

After them, my favorites are (in no particular order):

Creedence Clearwater Revival

Pink Floyd

Fleetwood Mac

The Kinks

The Clash

Led Zeppelin

The Cars

Bruce Springsteen & the E Street Band

Buddy Holly & the Crickets

U2

Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers

The Band

Janis Joplin

Jimi Hendrix

The Doors

The Temptations

The Police

The Pretenders

I'd like to say "thank you" on behalf of the group and ourselves and I hope we passed the audition.

Yes,(DUH) the Beatles are my favorite band. I like Led Zeppelin and Bob Dylan a lot, though.

Still, the Beatles are number 1 on my list.a-hard-days-night-george-4

No question in my mind- there’s really no contest- they are indeed my favourites.
(I think that hallowed position for the boys is here to stay, too!)

Though, I do also like Bob Dylan, Coldplay, Mumford & Sons, Simon & Garfunkel etc, etc.

Yes.

In second place, U2, Pale 3, Queen, Caifanes, Tears for Fears, The Police, Sigur Ros, (man I’ve forgotten them, I love their music) and Mr. Mister. They’re not bands, but I love Jesse and Joy and Julian Lennon. I have broad tastes in music, but these are the ones I have at least more than one CD.

They’re more than my favourite band.

They’re the air that I breathe.

My CD rack has everything from Mozart to Metallica but The Beatles are far and away my favorites.

Other favorites include – in absolutely no particular order…

The Allman Brothers Band

The Band

Bob Dylan

Pink Floyd

Elvis Costello

David Bowie

U2 (mostly because my wife loves them)

The Sex Pistols

The Clash

…and many of the ones listed above – except the Jonas brothers. I am proud to say that although I have heard of them, I’ve never heard a single note they have played/sung/mimed??

Also, I like some 80’s bands. While The Who and The Beatles are tied for 1st place, Van Halen and Genesis are tied for 2nd.

Anyone one care for The Bee Gee's, I've never really heard to much from them, but my friend says to buy they're hits collection (with like 30 songs) for only 10$.  a-hard-days-night-ringo-14

When I Twish And Shout, it makes the Girl say "What Goes On?", and than I say, "I do this Here, There and Everywhere", and than she finishes by saying "Honey Don't".
