Have any of you youngsters played some Beatles songs when your friends are around without telling them that it is the Beatles?No, but it sounds like a great idea!
I haven’t done it either, I should!
Do any of you fellow teenager Beatlemaniacs feel like you were born in the wrong time period? I do so sometimes. Often I’m embarassed that I am part of such a generation…

Yes!!! I feel the same way too! It’s such a pain knowing that I never had the chance to experience Beatlemania! I hate a lot of the modern music and the kids that listen to it. Which is pretty much everybody. It’s a constant nag,nag,nag thing. It’s been 50 years too long for me!

Yeah, when you are all around a computer one day, just say “hey listen to this new band I came across while playing around on YouTube last night.” The hit ’em with Girl, Drive My Car , or Nowhere Man (or your choice).
No, I’m not devious or passive-aggressive AT ALL.

@thisbirdhasflownI know! don’t you hate it when they dismiss The Beatles without knowing anything about them!?
I constantly get told to shut up about The Beatles.
I know you were asking @thisbirdhasflown, but I must say I can’t agree more. It’s sad really—I mean, when people reject something they aren’t even familiar with, it’s quite pathetic. It’s almost as bad when somebody says that they’re a Beatles fan, yet know nothing about them. One of my classmates wore a Beatles shirt to school one day, and one of my other classmates (a big classic rock fan) asked her, “Do you like the Beatles?” She said, “Yeah, I guess.” Seeing she wasn’t sure, he then asked, “What are their names then?” She got annoyed and said “I don’t know! I know one of their names is John Paul.”

I was about to say I’m a teen Beatlemaniac, but then I actually remembered that I’m 20.
Nice one – my eldest just turned 22 and is in denial that she isn’t a teenager (by a long way) anymore

Well, I’m no longer a teenager, but when I was a teenager (not that long ago), already a Beatles fan, all my classmates and cousins used to say they didn’t like the Beatles because their music was old. It really made me angry! Of course it was useless to say something which is absolutely true: their music will never be old and while the hits (well, at least most of them) of those days have already been forgotten, Beatles’ music hasn’t and never will. It’s just like in literature: genius will always be listened to and read. Yes, because that’s what the Beatles are: genius.

I’m not surprised: Somebody in my class said the Beatles broke up in the 1980s. Another argued it was during the ’90’s.

@Ahhh Girl
I once locked a kid in my car and played I’m Down . He was the only one in the car, as I thought he may be able to let himself enjoy it if all of his obnoxious friends weren’t with him. I actually didn’t know him that well, so being locked in a semi-stranger’s car by himself scared him more than I had anticipated. Despite the traumatic experience, he did admit it was a good song, but he never really became a fan. I don’t remember whether or not I told him the band though.

Once I was talking to a (kind-of) friend about music, don’t really remember the conversation, but he said something like “Paul McCarthy’s awesome.” and he said it with what sounded like such real respect that it took me a few seconds to realize he said McCarthy and correct him. I don’t think he really knows much about the Beatles though, but he like myself, plays music and you have to have respect for the best when you’re a musician!

Also, you don’t see website forums dedicated to other musicians or bands that have the variety of topics and interests this one does. Another difference that makes the Beatles and their fans unique.
