How many times did you cross to make sure??

I'm like Necko only I'm a bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin and also everyone. Or is everyone me? Now I'm a confused bassist ukulele guitar synthesizer kazoo penguin everyone who is definitely not @Joe.  This has been true for 2016 & 2017 Sig-Badge.png but I may have to get more specific in the future.

@Ahhh Girl, where can we see your story about visiting Abbey Road ?

I say in speeches that a plausible mission of artists is to make people appreciate being alive at least a little bit. I am then asked if I know of any artists who pulled that off. I reply, 'The Beatles did'.

I’m sure I was on there. Yes, I behaved like a proper forumpudlian.

If you go there in the next few months, look for

beatlesbible.com

written on the gate in my nail polish color. It is in 2 places. I didn’t have a marker with me.

Just remember, your behaviour reflects upon the forum. If one of Paul’s people see you going funny, they won’t let him visit the rooftop for your birthday surprise concert.

Hard to believe but some visitors to the road are incredibly disappointed its a road with such things as traffic on it, one person on trip adviser commented that there wasnt much to do (source: Metro).

Would be quite interesting to know what they expected.

I’ve spent a few hours at Abbey Road this past February. Watching the people was fascinating to say the least. I also felt a bit sorry for the locals. Many of the tourists take far too much time crossing, often standing still in exaggerated poses.

I have to admit though, it does feel surreal to walk on that zebra crossing. The moment you step onto that road, just walking across like you would any other street, the history just hits you. Even though 50 years have passed, there’s a certain magic about the place. I think the disappointed people are the ones using their eyes instead of their hearts. I certainly didn’t feel disappointed at all, and I’m glad the pictures turned out so well.

I hope that wasn’t too sentimental; I’m in a bit of a wonky mood today…

I was at the Abbey Road crossing for the first time last year.

I was surprised it was so busy. I hadn’t realised that it had become such a popular spot for tourists, and the ones I watched, for about an hour, were from all over the world. I heard a variety of languages and hardly anyone was a first generation Beatles fan. Most seemed to be in the 18-30 range.

The reach of the Beatles was, and is, incredible.

This is somewhat related information.

Abbey Road is 1.3 mi (2.1 km) long.

Originally, it was a road/path/lane that led to Kilburn Priory, an abbey of Augustinian nuns.

Should be remembered that the crossing in itself nowadays is a massive tourist destination so it’s not just Beatles fans who go. It’s something visitors from all over the world have to do when they go to Liverpool.

Which is some achievement when it was four guys who just wanted to have a quick album photo done.
