Paul McCartney ‘s compilation, Wingspan, was a two disc set featuring the Hits on the first disc, the most famous songs, and hit singles (Band On The Run , Silly Love Songs, Junior’s Farm). The second disc, History featured lesser known B-sides and album tracks (Maybe I’m Amazed , Let Me Roll It , Venus And Mars /Rock Show)
This is an effort to compile a Beatles edition, with the most popular songs on disc one, and the lesser known, but just as good tracks on disc two.
Ground rules: there must be from 40-50 total songs, with no more than 4 more tracks on one disc than another.

Wow, I had to cut a lot of songs for that to be 50. Would have liked 40 to equal Wingspan, but I couldn’t. So, what are yours?
Edit: I went one over 50, because I realized I forgot Strawberry Fields Forever , and I couldn’t cut anything else.

Offline Wow – I thought this would take me ages – but honestly – that listing you have is excellent. I might have a few variations when I have a chance to give it a decent bit of thought. I am almost tempted to burn a couple of CDs with that list and ‘lend’ it to anyone who wants to hear a bit of Beatles before buying.

The ones I had a really hard time cutting were all on History. All My Loving , Twist And Shout , Drive My Car , and Being For The Benefit Of Mr Kite ! were the last ones cut, so they can be bonus tracks.
And that was exactly what I was going to do!

Well – if we are being strict and trim – Dear Prudence my first choice, Because second choice – only as one needs to be trimmed.

And Yesterday was a hit so it should be on disc one replacing Revolution which wasn’t – which comes down to side one being a reduced 1. Pirate that album which moves Something and Come Together over, giving more space for a copy of others – maybe all the bonus tracks would fit on. Personally the only track missing i’d really quibble over would be No Reply .
Its a cool album tho.

Well, I had All My Loving , but I got rid of it at the very end. And I had I’m A Loser , which is much in the same place as No Reply , but again, everything else added up.
